About this listen

'Every day is a perfect day to read this’ Shari Low

Eleanor Sharpley has been living a lie...

Needing to escape her London life quickly, Eleanor throws her things into the back of her car, and heads to her erstwhile best friend Charlie’s family farm.

But Charlie isn’t there. Instead she finds Charlie’s grieving brother Daniel, her eight-month old daughter Hope (a daughter Eleanor had known nothing about), and a crumbling and unloved Damson Farm.

Damson Farm lies at the edge of the village of Ferrington, with the river Maddon flowing at its heart. But Ferrington is a village divided by more than just a river - it is split in two by an age-old feud – between the Old Side and the New Side. Eleanor has run from her problems, straight into a family and a world that has problems of its own.

But Damson Farm has magic too, and as winter gives way to spring, the old farm starts to come to life under Eleanor’s love and care. The orchard starts to blossom with daffodils and bluebells, and the sound of bees busy in their hives fills the warming air. Can Eleanor bring Daniel and the feuding village of Ferrington back to life too, or will her secrets catch up with her first?

Number One bestselling author Beth Moran’s books are heart-warming, funny, and completely addictive. Perfect for all fans of Jill Mansell, Julie Houston, and Jenny Colgan.

I really like this author. Her books are creative and engaging with lots of great dialogue. So refreshing to have more story than page filling bedroom scenes ad nausea. I love detailed descriptions of locations and people and Ms. Moran does it well. I am reluctant to criticize the narration in light of this story’s theme but it doesn’t work for this book. It’s a depressing delivery and sluggish most of the time and pretty good at other times. I encourage readers to stick with it because it’s a very interesting story.

Great story

Fantastic writing and performance, once again. I really enjoy Beth Morgan’s details and having lived in the north of England briefly, I can appreciate the performance, finding the variety of characters’ personalities and hearts to be genuinely lovely!

Well told story with lovable characters

I was approximately 3/4 or more into the story before it became interesting! I kept prodding on because I had enjoyed two other of Ms Moran’s books. Finally the story came together.
If you don’t mind slow moving stories, try this one!

Not the best of Beth Moran’s books.

She has such creative story lines and this one doesn’t disappoint. It picks up about halfway through and keeps you highly engaged up until the end.

Contrary to what some readers have said about the narrator, I thought she did an amazing job bringing the characters to life and she has a very soothing, sweet voice that was easy to listen to.

Another great book by Beth Moran
