It was just a random mutation - one of a billion that happen in viruses every day. But this one was different. It exploded out of Somalia and spread across the oceans before anybody thought to look up from their cell phones to see what was going on. The infected breathed the virus into the air around them, spreading it through the cities faster than anyone thought possible. Hospitals were overwhelmed. Police lines crumbled. Quarantine sites disintegrated. Cities started to collapse.

At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it's hard to be good when all your powers are evil. He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters...and that’s just on the first day. Publisher's summary
Set 17 years after the main events of We’re Alive, We’re Alive: Goldrush is a recollection story that describes the efforts of the “soldiers” (Greg Muldoon, Anthony Robbins, Carl Thomas, and Samuel Puck) as they attempt a side mission to retrieve a suspected stash of gold bullion. An aging General Puck confides this previously undisclosed tale to Alex Robbins, the son of his former teammate and friend, Anthony Robbins. Over the course of 10 chapters, Goldrush will not only relate past tales of heroics, horror, and humor but also sets the stage for future events and characters.
In Goldrush, fans will truly get to know these well-beloved characters on a much more emotionally satisfying level. Their humor and unique group dynamic certainly remains intact, and modeled after old spaghetti Westerns, as the story takes directions the series has not yet explored.
Filled with action, battles with the undead, love triangles, conflicting loyalties, and, of course gold, We’re Alive: Goldrush stands out as a truly unique theater-of-the-mind experience for both new and old listeners.

Melanie Hoskins, an experienced firefighter-paramedic, has been recruited by a very selective and secret organisation known as The Division. Their mission is to protect the populace and secure the continuation of the United States. The Division is only activated at times of dire need. This just so happens to be one of those times. Story
What would you do if the world as you knew it suddenly came crashing down around you? A financial system in shambles, America slowly slips closer and closer toward collapse. As everything is in ruin, a suburban city burns. As small group of unlikely survivors bands together to weather the storm. A few well prepared, well-armed, and well-trained friends band together. Story
For dinosaurs, it was a big rock. For humans: Coronal Mass Ejection (CME). When the Earth is hit by the greatest CME in recorded history (several times larger than the Carrington Event of 1859), the combined societies of the planet's most developed nations struggle to adapt to a life thrust back into the Dark Ages. In the United States, the military scrambles to speed the nation's recovery on multiple fronts including putting down riots, establishing relief camps, delivering medical aid, and bringing communication and travel back on line. Just as a real foothold is established in retaking the skies (utilizing existing commercial aircraft supplemented by military resources and ground control systems), a mysterious virus takes hold of the population, spreading globally over the very flight routes that the survivors fought so hard to rebuild.

When you have to kill the same terrorist twice in one week there’s either something wrong with your world or something wrong with your skills - and there’s nothing wrong with Joe Ledger’s skills. And that’s both a good and a bad thing. Story
Cal's "honeymoon" didn't start off quite how he'd planned. For starters, he was heading somewhere he didn't actually want to go. And secondly, he was going alone and unmarried. He had no idea that his first visit to New York City would also land him in the middle of a domestic terror attack, forcing him to flee Manhattan in a desperate bid to survive. This was no ordinary terror attack. The Movement, in a misguided attempt to seize political control of the USA, unwittingly invited the destruction of their homeland.
