About this listen

James Carville is the best-known and most-loved political consultant in American history. He is also a speaker, a talk-show host, an actor, and an author with six New York Times best sellers to his credit. Part of a large Southern family, he grew up without a television and loved to listen to the stories his mama told. Mr. Carville lives with his wife, Mary Matalin, and their two daughters in New Orleans.

Critic reviews

"Carville makes a breezy, detailed, and well-supported case for the progressive positions...for liberally inclined readers looking to refute their conservative friends' arguments, these are the concise, thoughtful talking points they'll need." (Publisher's Weekly)

"Delivered with [Carville's] signature passion and earthiness...a valuable book for readers hoping to make sense of the strangest election in memory." (Kirkus Reviews)

Great book

I Love James Carville's honest assessment. He laid out the facts and has a good argument for the Democrats.

Learn how to talk to republicans.

Would you consider the audio edition of We're Still Right, They're Still Wrong to be better than the print version?

Same

What was the most compelling aspect of this narrative?

Lots of facts. Talk the truth and the republicans will slowly accept it.

Any additional comments?

He's still right

It's 6 days until the 2016 election and this book is feeling very relevant right now. I suspect by next week it will still be relevant: either as an "I told you so" or a "we're so screwed" moment. I was disappointed that Carville did not do more of the narration. I can't give 5 stars on performance although I don't have a serious objection to the speaker. It just would sound a little better in a Cajun drawl.

Clearly presented in the James Carville way.

I still wonder why he can't convince his wife we're right. Although I think I know. They are in love no matter what and I respect that. The people at the top should not run our personal lives.

A book that's entertaining and informative

I saw the author on an episode of Realtime and figure what the heck... I was very much impressed by his take on the current election. The fact that he starts this book off with a drink recipe says what most are thinking when it comes to this election cycle...we must all be drunk in order to deal with this! Would recommend to others

Carville gets it Right Again

Another hit. Carville in his own way explains and makes sense of all the things you thought you knew or understood. Background on everything from trickle down economics to how the GOP denies climate change. Well researched and has a sense of humour. Doesn't make you feel stupid for what you don't know and afraid to ask.

Spot on. Carville holds nothing back.

This should be required reading prior to any voter entering the ballot box. Love his insight mixed with Cajun humor.

Mostly right but one very big wrong

I enjoyed this book & the performance was great. The narration made this easy to follow ... clear voice & enunciation.

DNC is on the right side of the issues IMHO & the book offers strong arguments.
But I was dismayed when the DNC pushed for HRC's candidacy as this book did also. That's when you lost the argument.
I still give 5 stars & faith the DNC will do some deep reflection.
