Excerpt:
Girl Among Wildflowers
As the sun began to dip below the horizon,
and the sky gave way to the gentle pastels of twilight,
a young woman found herself standing
in a field of wildflowers, lost in thought.
Her hair, the color of auburn fire, swayed gently
in the breeze as she gazed across the landscape before her.
With each passing moment, her thoughts
turned more and more to her true love,
the one who held her heart in his hands.
She remembered the way his eyes sparkled like stars,
the softness of his lips as they pressed against hers,
and the warmth of his embrace as he held her close.
As she stood there, surrounded by the beauty of nature,
her mind ran wild with thoughts of him.
She imagined the two of them sitting among the wildflowers,
the sweet scent of nature filling their senses
as they talked of their deepest desires and dreams.
The thought of being in his arms, lulled by the sound
of his heartbeat, filled her with a sense of contentment
that she couldn't fully explain.
As the last rays of daylight faded away, the sky bathed
in a gentle lilac glow, the girl closed her eyes
and let herself be fully consumed by her thoughts of love.
The wildflowers, with their delicate petals and vibrant colors,
seemed to dance in the evening breeze,
as if they too were caught up in the magic of the moment.
And as the night drew near, the girl opened her eyes once more,
a sense of peace washing over her.
Though her love was far away, she knew that he was
with her in spirit, and that the connection they shared
remained unbreakable. And with that thought in her heart,
she turned and made her way home,
the memory of the wildflowers
and the love she held dear remains with her always.
16 Poems that Lakelyn hopes will encourage everyone who reads her writing to live their best life. Poetry written in a prose style that reads like short-short stories with lovely imagery that speaks to a maturity that deepens as the poems progress from her Early Poems to Later Poems.
