About this listen

Maddie Fynn knew from the moment she laid eyes on Aiden Faraday that their destinies were intertwined. Born with the unique ability to see the exact date a person will die, Maddie is definitely an expert on destinies. She and Aiden have a deathdate exactly one day apart, far off in the future, sixty years from now. So how could it be that they wouldn't be destined to spend all those years together, especially when they fall madly in love.

But when Maddie gives birth to their baby girl, she sees immediately that her daughter's deathdate will be less than a year away, and there seems to be nothing she can do to prevent it. Maddie only knows the when, never the how. Still, she couldn't have imagined that concealing that information from Aiden would seal her daughter's fate. Now, their marriage seems irreparably broken as they both blame the other for their daughter's death. This is the story of destined love, and a tragedy that tears that love to pieces. But it's also the story of how those antipodal destinies could be the very thing that brings them back together.

Oh I loved this series!!! 12 years I’ve been waiting for the answers of “what about Maddie and Aiden? What about Stubbs? What will they concur next!? This story is absolutely amazing and I was able to connect with Maddie on so many things. As a mom who has went through a placental abruption and a divorce. Someone who has went through life with the feeling of “if?” Over my head. It’s so nice to be able to relate to an amazing character and I’m glad to mark this as my first read of 2024 and can’t wait to see where Victoria goes next!

Emotions were EVERYWHERE

I did not expect the storyline to be so serious. I picked this book because I have read all the titles by this author. Normally, I don’t choose “heavy”books because for me personally I like books as an escape from the day to day. This book was a deep look into grief and the turbulent process of acceptance. It was heartbreakingly beautiful. I am so happy that I chose it and even though it touches on some very hard subjects I would strongly recommend it.

Wonderfully sad

I loved this book, it went so well with the one. I loved the way everything worked out. The narration was great. It made it feel like everybody had their own ways and the right intensity.

I love a good series that doesn’t dull. This is one of them. I loved this story almost as much as book 1.

Sweet and sad

I read the first in the series, When, and loved it so much I was sad to finish it, so dug into this one right away. I was annoyed from the beginning but thought it would get better.
I am a huge fan of Victoria Laurie, Gillie being my all time favorite character, but this was most definitely not up to par.
The characters were immature and lacked even the smallest communication skills. The affair was taken too lightly. Even Stubs disappointed me. I really thought he'd come through to knock some sense into them.
I loved the narrator in the first book too, but in the second she didn't sound like they'd grown up, more that they were all pack a day smokers.
I usually can find something good to say about a book and don't like to give bad reviews, but this one was just too big of a lemon from such a great writer to not submit my disappointment.
Don't waste the credit or in my case, the cash.

Such a disappointment

Too dramatic and whiney. Characters annoying and over produced. Not an enjoyable read. Victoria’s prior work is so much better.

Way too dramatic
