The narrator was awesome as always but the story...the story was just not good. Everything you liked about the characters and their relationship was thrown out the window in the end and the conclusion...I can't even put into words how uninspired and pointless it made the book and all the sacrifices. Spoilers:










You (Annie) got two of your supposed "best friends" KILLED because you wanted your boyfriend to quit his job amd he wasn't listening to you!? You could at any point, as you watched the windows, ended the charade but you chose to let them die while their daughter watched? Then that same daughter AND the main character (Gideon) mourns for basically a sentence and then moves on despite how fiercely everyone fought for each other in this book and in the previous stories? It was such a lazy ending and I wish I had stopped at the previous book. Annie was always a super flat and annoying character but this took the cake for selfishness and made everything pointless. Order the other books for an easy and low stake (emotionally) story but do not spend your credits or money on this one. - signed Extremely Disappointed 😞
