About this listen

A new masterpiece of macabre humor and action from the New York Times best-selling author of Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, the nationally best-selling Nightside series, the Deathstalker Chronicles, the Ishmael Jones Paranormal Mysteries, and more!

Hyde in the shadows.

Daniel Carter was a London cop who just wanted to do the right thing. But during a raid on an organ-selling chop shop, he is almost torn to pieces by monsters. And no one believes him. Hurt and crippled, his career over, and his life in ruins, Daniel is suddenly presented with a chance at redemption. And revenge. It seems that more than two centuries ago, the monsters of the world disappeared - into the underworld of crime. Guild-like clans now have control over all the dark and illegal trades, from the awful surgeries of the Frankenstein Clan, to the shadowy and seductive Vampire Clan, to the dreaded purveyors of drugs and death, the Clan of Mummies. And there’s always the Werewolf Clan, to keep order.

Only one force stands opposed to the monster clans: the super strong, extremely sexy, quick-witted Hydes! Now Daniel is just one sip of Dr. Jekyll’s Elixir away from joining their company. At Jekyll & Hyde Inc.

It's fine

I really like Simon R Green for his world building.
All the other books of his I've read I've loved because it's a very well developed world, with weird stuff going on JUST outside of where people are looking for it.
This is fine, but not great.
there's a couple spots where I think we're supposed to be surprised that the "answer" was there all along, but I remember it as being spelled out, like a threat earlier in the book, so not really a shock.
I liked the idea, but I could tell where it was going pretty quick. And there wasn't a twist, it was just " Bad people are doing bad things, and they'll keep doing it unless we do them, so let's stop then. oops, maybe violence wasn't the best solution"

Love Gildart Jackson but...

Simon R Green, I always buy his books but I find the repeative language to be annoying! He actually used the phrase "sharper than a serpent's tooth" in this book, which is used in one of the Nightside books. Getting past that, the story itself was new and interesting. But the reading leaves me frustrated like the Ishmael books do. I've listed to a lot of Gildart Jackson's reading and love him! But in this book and the Ishmael books, the way many characters are read grate on your nerves. I get they are trying to make the character 'rougher' but it takes away from the store considerably.

Extremely entertaining

Ever since reading the Darkside series, I’ve been a big fan of Simon are green. Jekyll and Hyde Inc. is a fantastic, standalone book. It has me asking for more. I can’t wait to see you what else Simmons are green comes up with! Please keep creating excellent stories and fabulous characters until the day you die

Thank you until the next book I will be waiting with him

too predictable

Overall, I enjoyed the story. It simply was too predictable. The reader did a good job.

Fun Story

This was an interesting detail into the possible life of Dr. Jekyll. not just the one of the tales but of what couldn't have been a whole group. unexpected but interesting with its reluctant anti-hero

Some snappy dialogue but some bland if bloody fighting

Narrator did the best job possible. Fight scenes were ok, funny Quips. Too short ! Neat idea but not enough written to make it a really good book

Takes one to stop one

The new Simon R Green story is hopefully the start of a new series. Simon takes the Monster Clans on and does let up. Green has his usual flare for twists and turns and does some unexpected things the keep you guessing. Gildart Jackson did an amazing reading a brought the characters to you and emerged you in the tale. Hope there is more soon.

DONT EVER GIVE A LAWYER IMMORTALITY!!!

LOVE IT!!! Hilarious!! Witty, and just out right entertaining!! Without all the ridiculousness found in fantasy from most of todays authors. Oh, vampires are real vampires in this book. There is none of those sparkly wanna bees and werewolves are not teenage heart throbs. The Frankensteins were actually a little terrifying if placed within the bounds of real world life extension medical research we are actually close too today!! Humans are the monsters this world will ever produce. Figuring out how to keep rich human monsters alive for simple profit to a medical corporation is probably as deadly as runaway AI!! At least with AI, severing the power supply should theoretically shut it down.
