Worth the money

This is definitely worth the money. Owl Moon is a beautiful story, beautifully told. Doctor DeSoto is charming and fast-moving. The other two are excellent, as well.

A great mix of books

My daughter loves Dr. DeSoto. Thankfully the other books are entertaining enough that it's not a problem that Dr. DeSoto is the third book in. The narrations are fun. We've listened to it in the car. It's just the right length to use as a break between chapters of a regular book.

a must listen!

Max gets sent to bed without dinner, and rather than spiraling down, he lets his imagination take over. It is a simple, but great premise. What makes this book special is that it demonstrates how a child can channel his negative emotions into imagination.

This book is a true classic, one that i totally remember loving as a child. i remember our town librarian reading this to us aloud, and she seem to have a way to make the whole book come alive....You MUST check out the audio version of it, the drama and narration really help to bring it alive, while still letting the young person build the images in their own imagination.

Not a great mix

This collection was not a great mix. I purchased it for "Where the Wild Things Are" and "Owl Moon" assuming the others could not be that bad. We rarely listen to "goldilocks" and "Dr. Desoto" we have not listened to it at all. Suggest you purchase the books seperate here. "Owl Moon" is perfectly narrated in this by the author and "Where the wild things are" is not bad
