Publisher's summary

Everyone has secrets. Even a wine-making Zen master. What could possibly go wrong at a beautiful Oregon vineyard overlooking the ocean? Could the White Cloud Retreat Center on the vineyard, run by a world famous Buddhist Zen master, hold a deep, dark secret? Murder, for one thing, but who could possibly have a motive for killing the beloved Zen master?

Solving the mystery is the job of Sheriff Mike, ably assisted by his soon-to-be wife, Kelly, an amateur sleuth, and their two dogs, Rebel and Lady. The vineyard is famous for its White Cloud Pinot Noir wines, and the coffee shop that Kelly owns, Kelly’s Koffee Shop, is equally popular with customers looking for good food.

A mouthwatering pause resister with recipes, this is the third book in the popular Cedar Bay Cozy Mystery series by a USA Today best seller and Amazon All-Star.

Narrarator

I did not finish this book because I felt like she was a screaming robot. I like the story but the listening was unpleasant that I’m going to move on to the next in series unless she is the narrator.

Retreats and murder

This series is one of my top favorites of Dianne’s! Kelly and Mike are always enjoyable characters in the books. Kelly is looking for some needed rest and relaxation before her upcoming wedding. But in the process, she finds a dead body and gets involved in the investigation. The dogs star in this book as well. And Kelly’s good friends from her Koffee Shop. Lots of suspects throughout the story. And there’s some humor and some added surprises along the way as well!

Well done

A beautiful retreat with a Zen Master and a vineyard, not the usual thing to have murder there. Mike and Kelly give us a good story to find out what happened with some good twists, well done and enjoyed. Given audio for my voluntary review

Death of a Zen Master

In the little sleepy town of Cedar Bay, Oregon something is amiss when Scott the beloved Zen Master at The White Cloud Retreat is suddenly killed by an unknown person. This is a true who done it when Scott was loved by many and secretly hated by others. I loved the twisted journey this book took me on because it had everything all rolled together but with jagged edges that just didn't fit together seamlessly. White Cloud Retreat has many components that will have you on the edge of your seat from embezzlement to the mafia and many twisted people in between. I loved the intrigue and mystery within this very well written book it kept me glued to my headphones I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book to all mystery lovers this is my honest unbiased review.

Murder disrupts the peaceful retreat

Its fun getting to know the characters in Dianne Harman’s Cedar Bay mystery series. I’ve been reading / listening to the series out of order but the characters’ backgrounds are explained and there is no confusion. The narrator Kelli Petroski is great bringing each character to life with a unique voice. I’m looking forward to the next book.
