Publisher's summary

Leonard Ravenhill's call to revival is as timely now as it was when it was published over 50 years ago. The message is fearless and often radical as he expounds on the disparity between the New Testament church and the church today. Why Revival Tarries contains the heart of his message. AW Tozer called Ravenhill "a man sent from God" who "appeared at [a] critical moment in history", just as the Old Testament prophets did. Included are questions for group and individual study. Ravi Zacharias refers to this as "the book that shaped me...more dramatically than any other".

Incredible book by a man of God!

This is Brother Ravenhill’s magnum opus. It is a powerful wake up call to the sleepy, powerlessly, pale contemporary church to return to its apostolic, post-Pentecost beginning. This review is based upon the audible version. The audio is good, the text reader does so with passion and so makes it an interesting read, and the content is second to none. If you are burdened that something is not right in contemporary American Christianity, read this book and find the reason for your burden and an answer for what we must do.

Most challenging book on prayer

Ravenhill consistently belittles ministers who don’t pray and who play games spiritually speaking. This he rightfully does to show that real believers and ministers need to do more than be professionals at their job but rather need to see it as a calling. This book is a call to prayer for all believers everywhere.

Must Read for Ministers

This should be required reading & study for all ministers! Great wisdom! You must listen past the reader, however. He seems almost monotone. He sounds too uptight like he's trying so hard to be proper & ends up mispronouncing some words anyway which makes him sound even worse.

Why Revival is needed

Ravenhill is a harsh old-time prophet that was ahead of his time. This book was written almost 60 years ago. Now, taking a fresh look at it, it was written for today's church. We desperately need revival! Our churches need revival! May the Spirit of God move on us and awaken us! This is the only way to fight the powers of darkness.

A old message needed today!

Spoke with straight to the heart and challenges us in the core of our being, forcing us to ask questions if we really believe what we say, we believe.

Improvement in Narration

The narration seemed to have come from a robot or some artificial intelligence- it didn’t seem human in some parts - the cohesion, linking phrases or sentences to the next, etc.

Overall, it’s a powerful book. I had the paper version!
