Publisher's summary

Increasingly astronomers recognize that if the cosmos had not unfolded exactly as it did, humanity would not, could not, exist. Yet, these researchers - along with countless ordinary folks - resist belief in the biblical creator. Why? They say a loving God would have made a better home for us, one without trouble and tragedy. In Why the Universe Is the Way It Is, Hugh Ross draws from his depth of study in both science and Scripture to explain how the universe's design fulfills several distinct purposes. He also reveals God's surpassing love and ultimate purposes for each individual.

Why the Universe Is the Way It Is will interest anyone who wonders where and how the universe came to be, what or who is responsible for it, why we are here, or how and when the universe ends. Far from leaving the listener at this philosophical jumping-off point, Ross builds toward answering the big question of human destiny and the specific question of each listener's personal destiny.

Very very informative, but

This was a very informative audiobook. However, the narrator seem to speak as fast as he could, which gave me very little time to consider what he actually said.
Many times I found myself not listening to the narration, because I was considering what was just said earlier.
Without continuously, hitting the pause button and play button, I found there was no time for contemplation.

A valued instruction, well worth the listening

Prior to listening to this book I entertained a bias that it would be a typical monotonous lecture. But I held out hope to glean some modicum of information to which I could use. However, to the contrary Dr.Ross delivered a captivating, informative and interesting story. One to which compelled me to play and replay sections to absorb both context and interpretive value of factual information presented. I strongly recommend this thesis to any person desiring to obtain a valued understanding of God, his creation, and our purpose as human beings in God’s master plan for the universe. I rated Dr. Ross’s work five stars in all categories. I believe you will do the same. It is a true masterpiece. One that is well researched, developed and presented.

fantastic book!

I really enjoyed this book. I'm not sure I categorize myself in any religion at all. I've never been a believer and a divine entity or a grand plan. I am an engineer and appreciate mechanically how things work and understanding why. I have never asked a lot of the questions that come up in this book directly, but I suppose I've always kind of wondered some of these things and I really appreciate the perspective this book puts on all of it. it's a wonderful scientific analysis of the Bible and I'm very happy that it was recommended to me. I finished listening to this immediately after I finished listening to Bill Bryson's a short history of nearly everything, which is a second fantastically amazing book that I highly encourage everybody read or listen to.

Scientific explanation for the creation of the universe.

A succinct and logical well written book that leaves the reader no doubt about the divine creation of the universe. An excellent book to help witness to our agnostic/atheist friends and family members.

Facts Presented Against vs.For Intelligent Design

I was impressed the author layed out incredible facts pertaining to the earth's formation and placement in the cosmos. He addresses the issues that the exact placement of the earth in the universe to sustain life at this point in time couldn't possibly be random and why? The mathematical impossibility that all the myriads of dynamics that you would need to come together in exactly a certain point in a billions of years time spectrum is astronomical. He states some major points. He also gives bible scripture showing that it tells exactly how the earth was created; and now that we have the science how it confirms that process. I really enjoyed this book because he used scripture from the bible as his most credible source, then other famous astronomers and scientific studies. This book will leave you with a deeper sence of personal reverence for your God and Father, creator of the universe. If you aren't a believer you may even become one, because this is how this author became convinced to surrender his life to Jesus Christ.

Paints vivid mental and spiritual pictures are.

The Fingerprint of God was my first of Hugh Ross' books I read years ago. Have read several more since. This is great too. A lot of depth and explanation.

Great Book

I stumbled across the concept of a fine tuned universe on a podcast called Red Pilled America. I believe that there's a creator just by seeing the thin atmosphere around earth in pictures from space. The number of things that combine to make it possible for us is amazing.
I personally liked the description of the new earth the best.

Interesting; A Good Listen

Get ready for Thermodynamics which can be a bit boggy but was a necessity for the overall point of creation. Author tied everything together nicely. I am sure I will listen to again someday.
