Publisher's summary

Although there are over one million practicing Wiccans around the world today, Wicca is one of the world’s few religions that is more likely to be studied on one’s own than through in-person guidance. And while there is plenty of information about the “Old Religion” available, all of the diverse and often conflicting perspectives can make it hard to know where to begin.

Combining three of best-selling author Lisa Chamberlain’s top guides - Wicca for Beginners, Finding Your Path, and Living a Magical Life - the Wicca Starter Kit is designed to provide newcomers to Wicca with a solid orientation to the fundamental principles and practices of this dynamic religion.

  • Wicca for Beginners was created as an entry point for anyone seeking information about this fascinating form of spirituality. It is intended as a broad introduction, addressing the most commonly asked questions by people new to Wicca.
  • Finding Your Path covers the wide spectrum of modern Wiccan practice, from traditional “orthodox” covens to looser, more “eclectic” covens and circles, as well as the more recent phenomenon of solitary practice, followed by both traditional and eclectic Wiccans alike.
  • Living a Magical Life addresses questions regarding coven initiation and solitary self-dedication, as well as less often-discussed topics like navigating common obstacles along your spiritual path, leaving behind old beliefs that no longer serve you, and developing and strengthening your inner psychic guidance system.

Great book series for beginners

I've read many books on Wicca over the years from the very basic beginners book to advanced books and in between. Each one of them starts out in their own way and gives a brief history of Wicca and gives you basic knowledge followed by jumps right into what you're supposed to be doing as a Wiccan. asking with how you're supposed to do it. Here the author starts out with the history of where the word Wiccan comes from, basic knowledge of how people came up with it and the history of paganism itself as well as what falls underneath the umbrella of paganism. Then throughout the remaining two books she goes into very much in depth why people come together into a coven what's a coven. How to select a coven. How to not get trapped in a coven. Not getting trapped in a coven is important knowledge to know as I learned this from experience. If you want to stay solitary how to do so as a solitary witch or Wiccan. The author goes into the dynamics of all the different ways Wiccan groups work. they got the different paths you can take as far as the different traditions. There's three main ones which she goes into in the books. The author goes into why people say only somebody who's completed an initiation through a true cocen can ever actually initiate somebody in Wicca and how this is not true. It reminds me of being told that nobody can speak to God unless you're a priest. The author goes through incredible trouble to say what to look out for when getting into a coven or a circle and what to look for when seeking advice. This section alone was great knowledge! It is something I have told people about and now I can hand them a book saying here it's in writing. With the knowledge of what could happen if you join a coven and they say hey you have to reenact the union of God and Goddess. To find out there's only guys in the coven you basically understand exactly what they're going to ask you to do and why you need to run away! With the knowledge contained within these books anyone should be able to start out on the path of Wicca understanding what it's about. Determine whether or not it's for them and keep themselves out of trouble as far as getting sucker played by the wrong groups. My strong advice is never join a group unless you're absolutely sure that is the group you want to be part of and what you do with that group is not going to embarrass you in front of your own family as far as hey here's a video that you're walking on no clothes on or something worse.

Informative, helpful, and well-written

What did you love best about Wicca Starter Kit?

I like Lisa Chamberlain's style of writing. She is direct, simple, easy to follow, and presents Wicca and The Craft as just a part of life rather than some complicated, mysterious subject.

Any additional comments?

Kris Keppeler is not my favorite narrator. Her voice is friendly, but she stumbles often and seems very nervous as she narrates.

Entry Level Basic

A good beginner read for those just entering or curious about the craft. A little fluff filler and not as much information as I was hoping but most books I find are just rewrites of each other. Still looking for a book for those who are past the entry-level/ beginners phase of witchcraft.

Wow! Amazing beginners books.

This starter kit really opened my eyes to how easy and stress-free this religion can be! I was worried about having to join into a group of over-enthusiastic people who wouldn't share my same ideas of worship and connection to nature. But these books assured me beyond any doubt that I am perfectly capable of foraging my own path, and even gave a bunch of great examples as to how I can get started.

The author constructs a non-bias overview of Wiccan culture and beliefs in an organized fashion, making it easy to listen to and understand.

SO glad this book kit is where I started. I'm a lot more confident and motivated to dive deeper into Wicca now.

Great but out of order chapters

The books themselves are great but the audio book chapters are out of order. I have the physical books because it helps me really absorb the material while I listen but having to keep pausing the audio book yo find the correct next chapter was annoying not to bad but I wish I didn't have to do it.
