Publisher's summary

Everything you need to know about the Wiccan Wheel of the Year.

The Wheel of the Year is at the core of Wiccan and other Pagan practices. Following the Wheel by honoring the eight Sabbats, or days of power as they’re often called, helps us integrate this concept of circular time into our daily lives. In Wicca Wheel of the Year Magic, best-selling author Lisa Chamberlain delves into the rich traditions surrounding the Sabbats, with practical suggestions for how you can make the most of your celebrations. And while the information here is rooted in Wicca, much of it is applicable to Pagans of all stripes, as well as anyone who is simply curious about the Old Religion.

Many introductory sources on Wicca tend to gloss over the Wheel, providing just a paragraph or two on each holiday. This audiobook, however, devotes a full chapter to each of the Sabbats, where you will find:

  • The seasonal and spiritual significance of each of the eight days of power: Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lammas, Mabon, and Samhain
  • The pagan history behind each Sabbat - the myths, beliefs, and customs that have inspired our modern celebrations
  • Suggestions for creating your own Sabbat celebrations, whether you’re a solitary practitioner or working with fellow Witches
  • Spells and other magical workings aligned with the seasonal and divine energies of each Sabbat
  • Magical correspondences for each holiday, for use in ritual celebration and spell work

Whether you’re just starting out in Wicca or you're a seasoned practitioner looking for new perspectives, this guide will support and inspire your journey. As you grow in your practice from year to year, Wicca Wheel of the Year Magic will continue to be a trusted source of knowledge and inspiration.

This gave me a better understanding of the wheel

I love it. Lisa Chamberlain had become one of my favorites to learn from. She makes it easy to understand what she is teaching.

Informative and pleasant to listen to

This book is a fantastic listen for anyone who wants to know about pagan holidays, their history, and how modern pagans celebrate them. It’s not particularly complicated and gives very simple how to steps for performing holiday related rituals. Plus, the narrator of this book does a pretty good job of pronouncing some of the more difficult names of holidays and traditional players in mythology.

decent, pretty good tbh, but i have thoughts™

1. it’s not trans/male inclusive, and only refers to witches with she/her pronouns. male and trans/enby witches exist and have existed forever
2. lots of really fun history things !!! really great at describing the history for each holiday and how it appears in modern times/was adapted by the cath/xtian churches and includes ways to adapt ancient traditions/what ancient traditions did
3. all the spells/rituals provided seem really great and relatively easy, despite requiring a lot of tools but then i remembered that you can always substitute anything!!
