About this listen

One by one, they'll die....
Twenty years ago, wild child Jessie Brentwood vanished from St. Elizabeth's high school. Most in Jessie's tight circle of friends believed she simply ran away. Few suspected that Jessie was hiding a shocking secret - one that brought her into the crosshairs of a vicious killer.

Until there's no one left....
Two decades pass before a body is unearthed on school grounds and Jessie's old friends reunite to talk. Most are sure that the body is Jessie's, that the mystery of what happened to her has finally been solved. But soon, Jessie's friends each begin to die in horrible, freak accidents that defy explanation.

But her....
Becca Sutcliff has been haunted for years by unsettling visions of Jessie, certain her friend met with a grisly end. Now the latest deaths have her rattled. Becca can sense that an evil force is shadowing her too, waiting for just the right moment to strike. She feels like she's going crazy. Is it all a coincidence - or has Jessie's killer finally returned to finish what was started all those years ago?

My Thoughts.

Loved it!!!
Literally could not guess who the killer was.
And the twist in the story had my jaw dropping!!
It was wonderfully chilling!! The narration gave me goosebumps and the romance was steamy to say the least. 😉

Audio review

Great narrator, good idea/concept story, but the longest and torturous way of telling the story. The first half of the book could be mostly cut and the last half is better. Ended up fast forwarding through a good third of it to get to the end.

Good character and storyline

Wasn’t predictable but kept you on the edge of your seat. Love the author and her books never steer me wrong.

First in a series

Review is for ebook AND especially the Audible

Based on this ebook, the rest of the series is on my must read list. I started listening to this ebook with just the text to speech feature and enjoyed the book so much I decided to get the Audible. The Audible made an already enjoyable book an excellent book. Ten stars for the Audible.

Be prepared for a wild ride. There are so many twists and turns you might need a "GPS" cheat sheet. The characters are very well thought out. Love Becca and Hudson but my favorite character is Ringo. That's a given. The intermingled plotlines are expertly woven together. I cannot wait to read the rest of the books. With the Audible's of course..

Needless to say, I highly recommend this book. An I have a new author to check out in Nancy Bush.

Great Series

Would you consider the audio edition of Wicked Game to be better than the print version?

I haven't read the print version.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Yes, the story has different subplots.

What about Susan Ericksen’s performance did you like?

She good with changing the voices just enough to keep the characters desperate.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Wicked...

Any additional comments?

Audible has all four of the books recorded. However when you look at the series, the titles are different. I finally looked at Lisa Jackson's website and realized that I had listened to all fours. The titles on Audible are different than those on Lisa's site. Would be nice to have the correct listings. Although I enjoyed the series, it might have been better if they were listed in order.

It’s an okay book

The story was okay, the book itself was way to long
I found it difficult to really listen
If you the time and don’t mind a lot of unnecessary things entered into a story than give it a try

Iffy

I did not like the prologue and I really didn’t like it when the main killer was talking; it was just creepy to me. There was not a lot of bad language but, surprisingly there was more sex then I thought there maybe should have been for a murder/mystery.
There was a sci-fi element in the form of precognition and visions but there are no ghosts or demons, just pure evil.
The narrator, Susan, miss pronounced some words, it only bugged me because, they are not hard words like, windy. I get that the English language has many words that are maybe spelled the same but depending on the way the word is used in the sentence, is what decides how to pronounce that word. Whatever…
I like Lisa Jackson for the most part, even though this is not my favorite genre of book but, I don’t think that I will continue with the series.

Decent

I enjoyed the story, I happened to start on book 3 which so far is the best of the series
But it was nice to see where it all started.
The reader initially drove me crazy but now I really enjoy her
Sometimes you should just give it a chance and you maybe pleasantly surprised
