Publisher's summary

“I can’t screw this up. I refuse to go back to prison.”

Benji Wilde grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, where violence was normal and robbery was a valid occupation. Recently released early from prison on account of his good behavior, there’s only one thing stopping Benji from turning his life around - he needs a job. And the only person willing to give him a chance? The same man Benji spent his high school years bullying relentlessly.

“Forgiveness is one thing. I just never expected I’d fall in love with him.”

Gavin Joy lives up to his name, spreading kindness and goodwill to everyone he meets. It’s that kindness that makes him want to take a chance on Benji, hiring him to work in Gavin’s bookshop and cafe. But when a spark ignites between them, will Gavin introduce this scared bad boy to the pleasures that can exist when a man loves another man?

They build them big in the town of Harlan, Colorado - where the winters are beautiful and the mountain men are gorgeous. Listen along as we join them in Harlan, where the pain of the past drips away as these sexy, rugged mountain men find their true loves and embrace a lifestyle of happily ever afters. This audiobook and every other audiobook in the For You Series can be listened to in any order.

This story is about Garret & Bennie it's wonderful. This was such a sweet story, so many emotions from doubt to regret to hope and such friendships.

Another sweet mm Romance from JP Oliver!

After Reading the For You series, I instantly fell in love with Oliver’s characters and storylines. My favorite one is Wilde for You. We’ve already met Gavin in the previous books, and now we meet Benji, free out of prison early for good behavior and Gavin’s childhood bully. Benji must find a job before he gets hauled back to prison, so when word gets out and he’s in the prowl, he’s peeved that no one will hire him. With his mother’s support and tough love, Benji hunkers on and comes across a help wanted sign on Gavin’s shop window. When the two meet, shock and something else sparks. Gavin’s all about giving the benefit of the doubt and Benji, still on the defense, bites the bullet and works for him. We could only hope that Benji’s troubled past doesn’t come between Benji’s present and future.

Guillaume Dubois is really growing on me. He nails Benji and Gavin’s character without being over the top with their different personalities.

Oliver’s Wilde for You isn’t just an insta-romance, he gives us self discovery, loss and just a little bit of drama to draw you in. Listening to Dubois narrate Benji as he’s trying to figure out his feelings and his place in society now that he’s a former criminal and Gavin’s happy persona all while struggling within himself after the loss of his mother, really gives life to the story. Five stars all around. I hope to hear more from Dubois and future releases from JP Oliver. Happy listening all!

sweet

Would I listen to it again: yes
Did the story keep me engaged: yes
Was I invested in the characters: yes

Story comment: Childhood bully to lovers. nice pace, interesting characters and a story of self discovery.

Guillaume Dubois did a reasonable job narrating this one. There aren't huge vocal differences between the two MC's voices, it's more the differences in their personalities that differentiate the two, and his voice for Benji's mother wasn't my favorite, but overall I enjoyed it and would listen to it again.

Love and Forgiveness

This story was sad at first, then became very sweet, forgiving, and full of love.

Benji bullied Gavin through school. when Benji got out of prison he was angry.

Ultimately Gavin and Benji got together. Their love for each other is epic. Read the book and you will be taken on a journey of love and forgiveness.

HOW FAR WILL REAL FRIENDS GO FOR YOU?

Benjamin ‘Benji’ Wilde has been Gavin Joy’s nemesis since they met in high school. Benji, from a wrong-side-of-the-tracks neighborhood hung around with hoodlums who were very opinionated on how life should be lived. He had no friends; only acquaintances who made him feel bad about himself. He suppressed his gay tendencies to the point where he forgot he was gay. Gavin, on the other hand, was brought up to be proud of who he was and what he could become. The two have history, but when Benji admits what he is, the sparks fly. Can a no-strings attached man like Gavin fall for a reformed felon like Benji? Things heat up when Benji’s former gang leader turns up.

The narration is good but could be better. It seems the narrator does a good version of Ryder and Benji but changed up a little on Gavin. He does the female voices very well.

Gavin to the rescue

My heart went out to Benji. He did his time and got a second chance to resurrect his life. Things were going well, but the past comes back for one last kick in the head. I liked that Gavin overheard that fateful phone convo or things could have turned out much differently for all involved. Great read and ending. The narrator's voice and expressions added to my enjoyment of this story.

Gavin & Benji

What a beautiful story. Gavin has such a big heart, he is such a forgiving soul and I love how patient and understanding he is with Benji. I hated the plot twist for Benji but once again Gavin proves just what a great person he really is. It was a joy watching these grow closer and nurture their relationship. The narrator did a great job with the interpretation of the characters and the story itself. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audiobook.

Absolutely Beautiful

This is the fifth book in the For You Series with well-developed characters. I could not wait for Gavin’s story. Thru out the series I have had a soft spot for this caring and protective character. Benji was a childhood classmate that just got released from prison. Benji is determined, regretful of his past, and confused about his sexuality. Gavin was the only one willing to take a chance on the man. This romance is full of promises, secrets, and mystery. It’s a beautiful story and I cannot wait to listen to the other books. I love the dynamic the author brings to his stories. The narration was very well done.

Very enjoyable

I have always enjoyed the stories that J.P. writes about and this audiobook was no exemption to the rule. I didn't want to leave it and listened to it until the very end. The narration was excellent and made you feel the passion and the heart break that Bengi and Gavin were going through. Very enjoyable. Give it a try.
