Publisher's summary

They say love is like an explosion. But explosions haven't been so kind to Michael Wagner.

Michael's given his life in service to the military. He had a plan - structure, discipline, focus. Thirty years in the Army before retirement. It only took one IED blast to change all of that, stealing his hearing and altering the course of his life forever.

Joining some small-town support group? It's not going to change that. It's not going to give him back anything that he's lost...but maybe it's worth a shot, anyway.

They say love is like a car crash. But the funny thing about car crashes is - someone always gets hurt.

Andrew hates PTSD - the root cause of his father's decision to drink and drive the night he died. But getting angry is only useful if you turn it into action, so Andrew is resolved to reform the G-MIL support group his father used to run for military members and the people who love them.

Meeting a handsome, older soldier through the group was never Andrew's intention. Falling in love with Michael was never on the agenda. But when their hearts get involved, Andrew has to make a decision - can he withstand the pressure of loving a man who thinks himself broken?

Falling for His Comrade is the first audiobook in the Soldier's Support Group series, although it can be listened to as a stand-alone book. These military men might face some tough choices, but each audiobook in the series delivers a guaranteed happily ever after!

New-to-me author and narrator did a fantastic job!

Both the author and narrator for this series is new to me and I am so glad I tried them out! This series focuses on a military (vet) support group which I appreciate reading about as I’m a therapist who works in a major military city and it was easy to connect to the characters and their stories. The overall theme of the books are not too dark or depressing, keeping the romance between characters a focal point of these men’s recovery from trauma and their past. There are 4 stories total in this series and easy enough to start and stop if you are worried about the length of this grouped series. The narration was on point as well! A great listen!

A 4-Book Military Romance Bundle

You'll definitely get your money's worth with this 22 hour, 4 book bundle of military love stories. Each book features two men from a support group that's been formed for the soldiers of Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. If you like your romances to be mostly uncomplicated and with men that communicate their feelings, then you'll find this one fits the bill.

I've not read a Jamie June book before. I saw this audiobook offered on a review list. I like giving new-to-me authors a try, so I requested a free copy. I'm happy to say that each book in this bundle is enjoyable. I especially liked the dialogue written by June. It flows naturally and is believable. The theme of lending support to one another runs throughout each book, making for a satisfyingly emotional response in the reader as each couple find their happily ever after. The characters are well-developed and likeable. The plots are well-written and interesting. It's a thumbs-up read/listen for any romance lover.

Lance Adams is also a new-to-me artist. I'm a stickler for natural sounding dialogue and Adams hits it out of the park. The cadence of his voice helps completely draw the listener into these stories.

This post is my voluntary opinion of the 'Soldiers Support Group' bundle.

Interesting insight into American military life

Throughout the series I enjoyed the interesting characters, the friendships and the mutual support of the group. I have very little experience with or knowledge of military life, and I have to say that I wouldn´t encourage my children to enlist based on the experiences of the characters in these four books. It seemed most of them thrived despite the military, rather than because of it. Just the idea that the army will hold PTSD against soldiers when they apply for their pension is appalling.

I was impressed by the descriptions of life with PTSD in book 1, they were nuanced and insightful. Book 3 had the most interesting emotional conflict. James´ troubles with his parents was touching and convincing, and the way he responded to having his illusions challenged was really convincing. I was disappointed by the car crash solution, but enjoyed the ending anyway. I loved the gay for you thing in book 4, and although I could have wished for some deeper insights into the effects of Nicholas´ trouble with his wife, it was a really interesting twist.

Lance Adams delivered a fluid and engaging narration, but he did not change his voice for the different characters, and I kept wondering who was speaking.

All in all time well spent!

Very Enjoyable

This an enjoyable contemporary m/m 4 book bundle of the Soldier's Support Group as they find the love and support they need, and a found family. I love how they all trust each other in the group and learn to lean on one another. I enjoyed watching as the members of the group fell in love and found their happy endings. I recommend this bundle.
Narrator Lance Adams does a marvelous job with each book in the series.

Heartwarming and grin inducing

I wasn’t quite sure what I was gonna think about this bundle. The blurb caught my attention, but I’ve never read anything by the author, nor heard anything hy the narrator. Both pleasantly surprised me. I love the character each man possessed, and that they each dealt with realistic issues. It allowed me to immerse myself into each story, as if I was a part of it. Jamie June writes in such a way you feel connected to the stories, the men, their budding relationships, and their struggles. I loved how these books weren’t just superficially connected. The story flowed throughout each book, just highlighting a different couple. While the couples do find their HEA, the story continues in the next book. I strongly recommend listening to, or reading, these books in order. This was a great series, with a lot of heart, and a great group of men. I highly recommend it!

As far as the narration goes, I felt Lance Adams did a phenomenal job with each character. Even if it was slight, there was a difference between the voices for each character. He put a lot if emotions behind his narration, and I really enjoyed listening to him. Even his portrayal, in the steamy moments, wasn’t over the top. I would gladly listen to more books narrated by him.

best book bundle by far

stories were interesting. felt natural as Lamce read them. And they are so many other characters. I really want to hear a story about Ian. If there is one please let me know. and what is up with all the Young and old trop. It's fine but not my cup of tea. I love the stories anyways.

20+ hours of “Yes!”

This bundle is narrated by a new to me narrator and I really enjoyed their work, which is important because this bundle is HUGE! 4 complete stories centering military men and a support group. The stories were deeper then I was expecting but they weren’t dark/depressing. They pulled a lot of feels out of me and I loved it! Each book is its own story, and I loved all the supporting characters that we got to know through the different sessions.

Great Bundle

I received an ARC of this audio for my honest review. This series helps us to understand how PTSD effects our men and women in different ways. This is a great collection of stories with amazing casts of characters. They banded together for support but found so much more, they found love and family.
