About this listen

He'll guard her body all night long.

Former Marine Jude Wilde's motto has always been "burn bridges and never look back," so nobody is more surprised when Wilde Security is hired to protect assistant district attorney Libby Pruitt, the woman he loved and left. Although she makes it clear she wants nothing to do with Jude, they're forced to fake a relationship for her safety. He can't ignore the heat still simmering between them, and when her stalker's threats escalate to attempted murder, he's left with no choice but to whisk her away to a friend's safe house in Key West, FL.

Cooped up in paradise together, Jude begins to chip away at Libby's resolve to hate him. But even as she gives in to his proximity and her body's demands for his, she refuses to fall for his charms again. Maybe a torrid affair in the sun is exactly what she needs to get him out of her system. But when her stalker tracks them down, can they escape the steamy Key West night without anyone getting hurt?

A- rating overall...

My Review:
Overall.... 4.25
Performance... 4.25
Story.... 4.25

I'll admit, I haven't read a whole lot of Tonya Burrows, but every time I finish one of her books, I ask myself why?? I really, really enjoyed this story. I do love second chance tropes and this one is a good one.

Jude was a Marine under Libby's father's command. Libby's father NEVER liked him...never thought he was good enough for Libby. So, 8 years ago, when Jude asked Libby to marry him, her father shut it down...something that Libby is clueless about. She still has no idea why Jude cheated and dumped her two days after asking her to marry him...and she's never quite recovered.

Neither has Jude. Libby is the one who got away. The love of his life. Now, he just does as little as he can to get through the day. To his brothers, who don't know what happened then, he's the screw up of the family.

But now Libby's father comes to him for help. Since they broke up 8 years ago, Jude and his brothers have started Wilde Security and are the best in the business in providing personal security. Libby's father may not like him, but he knows Jude would do everything he could to protect her, so when a stalker threatens her, Libby's father hires Jude to protect her.

I loved this story. The story had just the right amount of suspense in it, but the over-riding story is this unfinished love story between Jude and Libby. I loved them together and their back-story broke my heart, especially since it's so obvious that their past broke both of them. The added dimensions of Jude's brothers gave so much more to this story. I can't wait to keep reading more of the series.

I also really enjoyed this author. He has a really smooth and polished voice that was just nice to listen to. I definitely recommend the author, the narrator, and this first book in the series. A great start. Luckily, I already have book #2 loaded onto my iPod, so I'm ready to get started on it.

Enjoyable romantic suspense

Would you consider the audio edition of Wilde Nights in Paradise to be better than the print version?

No but that's only because I have my own imagination as to how the characters sound in my head when they talk as verses how the narrator sounds as he plays each character.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Wilde Nights in Paradise?

When Libby thought there was an 'alligator" in the swimming pool.

Have you listened to any of Eric G. Dove’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

No, I haven't listened to Mr. Dove's other performances.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Romance and adventure in Key West.

Any additional comments?

The character development was very well done and the dialogue flowed.

Just Wilde for These Brothers

The WILDE SECURITY Series is perfect for romance readers who like family series. If this first book is anything to go by, these men know how to bring the heat. This is a good listen.

Any additional comments?

Well, 5 hot brothers and we get to start with the youngest who so happens to be the goofball in the family. Jude is a very intriguing character and we get to peel back all his layers to see the selfless man underneath. His feelings for Libby and how he unendingly tries to make her happy is precious. Libby is a no-nonsense attorney, but she is missing Jude in her life. Her love life has been on pause all these years and he is the only one that can fill her void. The push and the pull between Jude and Libby is sweet and sexy as they navigate through the unknown danger in Libby’s path. I enjoyed their banter and how their relationship was tested. Looking forward to all the brother’s stories. Eric did a great job with the voices!

Good grief..

Any additional comments?

I'm at 35% and I'm not going to finish this book. Jude in sooo immature. Every time he opens his mouth he sounds like a 15 year old, ( I started thinking that when the horse-play started in his office with his twin brothers and it's only got worse.) Besides he's full of tattoos and has an earring? His hair is short on the sides and spiky on top? And he's only been out of the military for a month? I can't see a military man taking on that persona so soon after getting out. Not my idea of the way a hero should look, just like a 15 year old you'd expect to see out on the streets. That's one of the reasons I'm not that crazy about some contemporary authors, they write about men based on today's teenagers and don't make them hero-material. I want a HERO when I read, and if I can't have him then I'm not reading the book.

As to the narrator: As alway Mr. Dove did a wonderful job but even his narration couldn't help this immature writing.
