About this listen

In this stunning debut by actor and screenwriter Ryan O’Nan (Skins, Marvel’s Legion, Queen of the South), time itself can be wound back like a clock. The power of Winding can fix mistakes and prevent disasters. Or, in the wrong hands, it can be used as a weapon against the world....

Juniper Trask is a prodigy, raised under the Council’s strict Code, which allows Winders to exist in secret among average humans. After the shocking murder of her mentor, she is chosen to take his seat on the Council. But as Juniper settles into her new role, cracks of dissension are forming around her, and she uncovers the dark truth behind their power. Juniper has just become a pawn in a game no one knows is being played, and as she begins to question the Code for the first time, her life spirals into a world of danger.

Charlie Ryan always knew he was different, ever since he saved his mother from a horrible car wreck that no one but him remembers. After meeting a mysterious man who claims he has the same ability, Charlie leaves home to chase him for answers. But the world Charlie’s stepped into is more dangerous than he could have imagined. Charlie’s powers are special, and there are those who would kill to get their hands on him.

Now, Juniper and Charlie need each other if they are going to survive the future - no matter which future that may be....

Great concept, wonderful new take on time travel!

Ryan O’Nan sets up a world where some lucky few have the power to have a one to two minute do over when ever they want. But are they lucky? His take on time travel is fresh and inventive. I especially liked hearing the story from Charlie and Juniper’s different perspectives. January LaVoy and Daniel Sharman hit it out of the park with their narrations. I see a sequel or a trilogy with this new world that O’Nan has created and I’m here for it! If you like sci-fi or time travel, you’ll love this audible. Enjoy!

Twists and turns and great characters

An excellent plot with twists and turns only some readers will see coming. The characters are well-developed and interesting. And the concept is unique.

The narrators are perfect.

Fast, Emotional, Entertaining!

Well written characters with emotional depth, gift us a timely new touch in Scifi, perfectly relevant to our 21st Century state.

It's a great read; easy on the mind but thought provoking and emotionally stirring. When I pick it up, it's so easy to be wound right back into the story and connected to what's happening. There are no pointless encounters- every personality drives the story forward and plays an influential part on the lives of Michael and Juniper.

The science part is fun because it's not entirely our of the realm of possibility. I would suspect the author knows a little about quantum physics. Enough that the concept seems plausible.

You really root for the good guys because of their humanity and you hate the bad guys... because of their humanity. Great read, highly recommended and looking forward to more from this author!!!

Couldn’t stop listening

Starts out slow, but gradually builds to be interesting. Full of wit and subtle King George one liners (for his Queen of the South fans.)

Fantastic premise!

Great idea that could easily be expanded to a series. I enjoyed how Ryan lets this universe slowly unfold, so your mind is stitching together little clues while you listen. He leaves a ton of room for future stories in this world without distracting from the current one. There are few unanswered questions at the end, but they’re pretty big ones. Given his writing style, I’m assuming we’ll get them in the next book. Or maybe the one after that. I, for one, am looking forward to them!

PLEASE write more!

I'm a fan of Ryan O'Nan's work and was so excited to explore this book. I chose to get the audio version and I'm so glad I did! The narrators sounded exactly the way I imagined they would. Juniper was very prim and Charlie had the sexy little accent. I was sincerely disappointed when the story ended. I felt a strong connection to the characters and I would love to see how their story plays out. If I could give 10 stars I surely would!

Couldn’t stop listening!

This book was so fascinating to read. And the narrators made it that much better. Especially Daniel. He put so much emotion into the narration that I felt like I really knew the character. Definitely a must listen!

Fantastic

This was a great book. The reality the main characters live in is a very interesting and dangerous world. Love how their stories played out. Completely nailed it with this one. Definitely on my list of top favorites.

I’m Terrible at Reviews, but…

I couldn’t put it down! Winders really grabs you and doesn’t let go. As cheesy as it sounds, I laughed and cried my way through this entire book. The complex story and characters are beautifully brought to life in a way that keeps you wanting more. You won’t want to miss out on this one, trust me!
