Publisher's summary

Some ghosts still live and breathe....

Six months ago, on the night Winter Black and her fellow agents took down The Preacher, a mall massacre occurred.

Today, one of the gunmen responsible for taking 15 innocent lives that night is killed - with a well-placed bullet fired from nearly a mile away. Clearly a professional, either military or law enforcement, the sniper leaves zero evidence, other than a note.

When more suspected rapists and murderers turn up dead, the killer’s pattern becomes clear: They’re acting as judge, jury, and executioner for a series of cases that were brushed off by the cops. How could a person not cheer a little? Until the spotlight is shone on one of the FBI’s own.

Ultimately, it’s a matter of right or wrong. Winter knows just where the line is - she learned the night her parents were slaughtered and her baby brother disappeared. After all, that night made her who she is, and she’ll uphold the law, even for the scumbags who deserve to die. Even while the ghosts of her past grow closer and closer.

Book Five of Mary Stone’s breakthrough Winter Black series, Winter’s Ghost is an ingeniously conceived psychological thriller that will keep listeners enthralled while making sure their door is locked - and pick proof.

Good characters, relationship frustration.

I will read one more in the hopes that M.Stone will finally resolve the Noah/Winter relationship. If that doesn’t happen she will, sadly, have lost a fan.

Great characters!

Love the characters, this series is my new favorite. I just wish the author would stop bashing the music choices of Gen X!

I’m still here Mary Stone!

I believe the presentation is great. However, I thought this story was not quite as good as the previous ones and I found myself wandering away at times. I do like the characters but feel the “do I, don’t I” romances are a bit like high school crushes and boring.
I will go on and listen to the next book to see where it takes me; I mean why give it all up this far in the game? To be fair I have enjoyed the series and thought the author has done a good job!

Worth every minute

Best series I’ve listened to in a long time. Be prepared to not get much sleep as you dive in from one to the next.

This is the last one for me...

I know, I'm 5 books in and now I have decided to quit? Well, they are quick listens since they are short and I sort of liked the story line early on. But now it has just stopped. Books 4 and 5 were just running in circles and the perp chases were almost incidental. I have come to dislike all of the main characters. They are shallow, angsty, and definitely not FBI material. And I am laughing over the ridiculous "romances". Seriously? It's like a high school kid with a crush on a teacher wrote these.

I do however think that the reason I stuck with the series so long was because the narrator is very good. She has great inflection and her range of voices is fantastic. Well done Brittany Goodwin!

Narrator shouts chapter numbers very irritating

Boring and narrator very irritating. To many stories between characters, Narrator shouts chapter numbers very irritating

Wandering

Seems to be long on “feelings” and short on drama. I like some feelings to flesh out characters but not at the cost of holding my interest in the story.

Love the series but...

I love this series, but the whole back and forth of Noah and Winter's "friendship" is getting monotonous. this is book 5 and they keep going over the same internal dialogues about being just friends, and how special their friendship is. It's really taking away from the overall story at this point.
