About this listen

Eisenmenger has reluctantly taken a job as a locum in the pathology department of St Christopher's Hospital - his partner Helena is pregnant and they must prepare financially for the baby's arrival.

John doesn't relish the prospect of being back on the treadmill, working within the NHS again, but when he is unwilling to accept his boss' "death from natural causes" diagnosis after autopsies on various bodies, his professional suspicions are piqued.

He goes to his old friend, DI Beverley Wharton, with his concerns. All paths seem to lead to Atopia, a private clinic for the treatment of allergies run by a Dr Adam Dreifus - whose wife has just been found dead....

Really good

I have enjoyed many Keith McCarthy books and this one is also very good to listen too. The narration of Sean Barrett is very enjoyable

Not quite as gripping

But still a great book from Kieth. Sean Barrett as always narrates this book well.

Kieths books should be listened to in sequence so that you don't hear what happenned in a previous book that you haven't listened to yet. Google to find out when each book was released.

Gold! Perfect narrator and superb story

Conflict and more conflict.
A very realistic representation of working relationships, especially medical.
I love the seething undercurrent of suppressed rage - anyone who has worked in a speciality where rank doesn't essentially equate to skill can empathise (through gritted teeth!)
Fabulous. Looking into the rest of the series.
Sean Barrett is king of narrators.
