About this listen

Movie premiers, murder charges, and celebrity shenanigans? It's all in a day’s work for New Jersey prosecutor turned LA family lawyer Sandy Moss.

Former New Jersey prosecutor Sandy Moss moved to a prestigious Los Angeles law firm to make a new start as a family lawyer. So it seems a little unfair that Seaton, Taylor have created a criminal law division specifically for her. Just because she's successfully defended two murder trials, it doesn't mean she likes them!

But when abrasive Hollywood movie director Robert Reeves is accused of murdering a stuntman on set, Sandy finds she can't say no when he demands her help. Robert might be an unpleasant, egotistical liar, but something tells Sandy that he's innocent—even if no one else can see it.

At least this time, she reassures herself, her charismatic, adorable, and oh so annoying TV star boyfriend Patrick McNabb isn't involved in the case. He isn't … right?

The third in the fast-paced, funny, legal mystery series starring pitch-perfect heroine Sandy Moss, who “could give Perry Mason a run for his money” (Kirkus Reviews), is a great pick for fans of cozy mysteries, legal dramas, and anyone who likes to laugh!

I find it very distracting from the story to have the narrator stop and enunciate words - like in a practice session, or for elocution lessons - every minute or so, during the story. It spoils the story, and interferes with any humour that is written or read.

As I think the stories are good, I would like to buy more, but I would not be interested in buying or listening to another one that Andrea Emmes reads, sadly.

Good story… but the narrator is not good!

There are parts that I roll my eyes at. Why didn't the character do more or different research? Why aren't they asking certain questions, but then something unexpected happened and I want to keep listening.

Good series

E J Copperman does it again. I love this series and look forward to the next book.

I love this series

I enjoyed how Sandy and her associates solved a murder mystery but wanted her actor boyfriend Patrick to show more depth. Yes, he is rich, good-looking, successful and helpful but it is not really explained why he is so interested in lawyer Sandy, with whom he has absolutely nothing in common. Yes, Sandy is intelligent, hard-working and compassionate but those are qualities that usually do not attract the attention of a male acquaintance.

This high quality humorous mystery is up on the intelligent and witty side of cozy mysteries. I absolutely enjoyed the fast paced, wildly entertaining audio book set in the Hollywood legal scene. Next please!

If Perry Mason was a lady lawyer in Hollywood ...

I don't usually like those Hollywood things but this was really very good. The characters were really interesting and actually some were pretty funny. The narration was really very well done.

Really very interesting and humorous.
