must read book!

this is the best book that I've come across yet.
the author should just write how to books. She is that good. So much effort and attention to detail.
this is written the way most people want, with resores , websites, question and answers and also a glossary . Julia please write more! A book on starting a trucking co. and a book on LLC

Well meaning but old paradigm; proceed cautiously.

Having now read over 250 of the leading business books and counting and more importantly started and unsuccessfully and successfully run a number of unrelated businesses over many decades, I feel it's very important to caution would be entrepreneurs. Proceed with great caution. Don't let yourself be seduced by the great "romanticized myth of entrepreneurship." Ironically, most books about entrepreneurship would do their readers a much better service if they first presented all the most relevant hard, cold facts about entrepreneurship, starting with the fact that 90% of all new businesses fail within ten years of founding, and then actually tried to dissuade would be entrepreneurs from attempting to start a business. After which, for the brave souls that still wanted to pursue starting a business, a very sober and realistic discussion of what is truly involved, such as working 80+ hours per week for at least the first three years after start up, would be presented.
If you really want to start to gain an understanding of what is truly involved in starting a business in the modern technocracy we live in today, I would suggest these three books are a good place to start, "Zero to One" by Peter Thiel, "The Hard Thing About Hard Things" by Ben Horowitz and "The Lean Start Up" by Eric Ries.
Further, it's so important to realize that every business today is a technology business. As Mark Andreessen famously stated, "software is eating the world." Moreover, the transportation industry is undergoing tectonic shifts that will disrupt and reshape the entire industry over the next twenty years. Just as starting a traditional cab company ten years ago, with the advent of Uber, Lyft and Didi etc, today, in hindsight is seen as a suicide mission, this will also be the case for traditional freight brokerage and trucking companies ten years from now.
There are obvious, public multi billion dollar firms (Amazon, Tesla etc) and not so obvious multi million dollar, VC backed start ups (Embark, Kodiak Robotics etc) that are collectively spending 100s of billions of dollars to capture and monopolize the entire logistics value chain over the next ten years.
