About this listen

Richard Blade’s autobiography is much more than a spotlight on any one decade. Instead, he gives you a jaw-dropping, uncensored insider’s look into the world of music, movies, and television and its biggest stars, starting in the '60s and continuing through to the new century. Richard takes you on a journey that few have experienced, from his early days as a student at Oxford to the wild, lascivious nights of being a disco DJ touring the clubs of Europe to coming to America and working with Michael Jackson, Barbra Streisand, and Sarah Jessica Parker and finally breaking through into the LA radio scene and becoming the number one morning drive personality in California.

From his TV and radio shows to his feature films and live gigs, Richard shares stories that have, until now, remained secret. His unique perspective will take you on the road with Depeche Mode to Australia with Spandau Ballet into the recording studio with Morrissey and onto the main stage at Live Aid with Duran Duran. He opens up about his friendships with Michael Hutchence and George Michael, as well as his passionate love affair with Terri Nunn of Berlin.

This is a no-holds-barred look at life, sex, and death, set to a pulsing backbeat of music. For the first time, Richard Blade shares his extraordinary story, allowing us to see the world through his eyes.

The audiobook is not only read by Richard Blade but features a full cast of voices of many of the superstar acts featured in Richard's previously untold stories, including Duran Duran, Depeche Mode, Spandau Ballet, and Terri Nunn of Berlin.

It is a unique and extraordinary audio experience.

Worth Your Time

I was hesitant going into this. I read the reviews and they were good, I figured worse case I can return it. I really enjoyed the book, Richard puts his heart and soul into his story and the telling of his story. He has had a colorful career and life in general.

There is a hint of narcissism (all the name dropping) but overall he comes across as a good person who just wants to make others happy.

Wishing Richard all the luck in the world!

So many memories!

This book brought back so many memories for me! Like Richard said, growing up in So Cal in the 80s is something that few outside of so cal can really understand. I am so lucky that I was able to do just that. Richard was a HUGE part of my teen years. I thank him for sharing his world with us. Good, bad, and indifferent. The flood of emotions I felt are unforgettable! I laughed, I cried, and remembered so fondly actually being a part of many of the times he shared! Thank you Richard!

An amazing time machine back to the 80’s

What an amazing life Richard Blade has lived! This book was so nostalgic & entertaining!
He is an amazing story teller & writer!
It was like I was back in high school & got to learn so much about the DJ’s, bands, & radio stations that I loved, especially when he gets to L.A. & all of my hometown places in Redondo Beach & surrounding areas.
Highly recommended & five stars all the way around! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great listen!!

This was one of my favorite audiobooks I have listened to. Richard’s life has been a fascinating one and was interesting hearing about how he rose to fame and the hard work and goals he set to achieve his success.

I highly recommend this for anyone who is a fan of Richard and hearing his stories about the best decade of music, the 80’s!!

Amazing. Well done Dick!

I listened to Richard growing up in LA. Now I hear him on Sirius radio. What a guy and a true music spirit. This audio book is amazing! He wrote it himself and then did the audio himself. What a guy. Bravo Richard!!

Am amazing story!

Richard’s life is nothing short of inspirational. He’s written a book that kept me engaged from the first to the very last chapter! Hearing it in his words with his narration was something special. Anyone that grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and a fan of modern music at that time will appreciate all the stories.

A great story from one of the best

Richard Blade is a name everyone who grew up in Southern California in the 1980s know. KROQ was the soundtrack of my childhood and Richard Blade was the narrator. The life story of Richard Blade is a story as incredible as the music he plays. The places he has been, the people he has met and the lives he has changed are an inspiration to anyone fortunate enough to pick up this book. If you knew him from his days on KROQ of from SiriusXM, you need to get this book. If you don’t know who Richard Blade is, you will want this book so you can hear this wonderful story of an inspirational life well lived. It doesn’t matter if you like autobiographies or not, World In My Eyes is a story you simply must experience.
