About this listen

THE AGE OF DRAGONS IS OVER.

Uncertainty plagues Azeroth’s ancient guardians as they struggle to find a new purpose. This dilemma has hit Kalecgos, youngest of the former Dragon Aspects, especially hard. Having lost his great powers, how can he―or any of his kind―still make a difference in the world?

The answer lies in the distant past, when savage beasts called proto-dragons ruled the skies. Through a mysterious artifact found near the heart of Northrend, Kalecgos witnesses this violent era and the shocking history of the original Aspects: Alexstrasza, Ysera, Malygos, Neltharion, and Nozdormu. In their most primitive forms, the future protectors of Azeroth must stand united against Galakrond, a bloodthirsty creature that threatens the existence of their race.

But did these mere proto-dragons face such a horrific adversary alone, or did an outside force help them? Were they given the strength they would become legendary for...or did they earn it with blood? Kalecgos’s discoveries will change everything he knows about the events....

This book is pretty good, a lot of fun, some great lore, and was a lot of fun.

Really good

Great story, but what I didn't comprehend is why they had to remind you they where proto dragons throughout the story. the writer over did it in my current opinion. many parts of the story they don't just simply say the name of the characters. they'll go with labels like the male charcoal gray proto dragon did this, the blue proto dragon did that, the yellowish orange proto dragon hissed, while they already have established names.
thank you for this great story.

we already know they are proto dragons

Masterfully told, gripping sense of dread and intensity even knowing the future of the characters and lore from WoW, it’s fantastic.

Amazingly well crafted

I noticed some other reviews mention how mono tone the reader sounds, but it only sounds that way in the beginning. Once the story picks up, that changes and frankly, his voices are EXCELLENT. He really brings it to life the longer you listen. I love this book. The story is amazing as well, so much lore and detail.

Great Story!

This book was absolutely amazing. The voice acting is great and as normal it’s a thrill to listen to.

This book delves DEEP into the Dragon aspects past and how they came to get the powers that they once had. It also makes you appreciate the past dragonflight aspects and their lives more. I would recommend this book highly and I would put it in my top three Warcraft books… maybe even my number one!

Backstory for the Dragon Aspects!

The story tends to drag here and there ,but the narrator's absolute scenery chewing over-acting (especially with Nozdormu and Galakrond) makes up for it in spades.

A slow-burner

This story reads a bit like fan fiction. Like a smaller idea that would make a solid and compact chapter of a larger book has been extracted from its source material and then stretched and given some filler. I hate saying it, but our main character could be completely written out and it wouldn't change the story. Same with Jaina. The story is about the dragon aspects, so why not just write a story about that? Why include Kalec and Jaina when they don't serve any purpose other than name recognition?

It's not a bad story, it just feels like blizzard and the author didn't bring their A-game.

It's... Alright

It's a good story, but WHY did the narrator make Nozdormu sound like a snake??? He sounds NOTHING like that. it makes me cringe every time he does Nozdormu's voice.

Good story, but the narrator....

Great book, and a wonderful lead into the recent expansion. If you want a good idea on the lore of the dragons, this is a must read.
