About this listen

THE AGE OF DRAGONS IS OVER.

Uncertainty plagues Azeroth’s ancient guardians as they struggle to find a new purpose. This dilemma has hit Kalecgos, youngest of the former Dragon Aspects, especially hard. Having lost his great powers, how can he―or any of his kind―still make a difference in the world?

The answer lies in the distant past, when savage beasts called proto-dragons ruled the skies. Through a mysterious artifact found near the heart of Northrend, Kalecgos witnesses this violent era and the shocking history of the original Aspects: Alexstrasza, Ysera, Malygos, Neltharion, and Nozdormu. In their most primitive forms, the future protectors of Azeroth must stand united against Galakrond, a bloodthirsty creature that threatens the existence of their race.

But did these mere proto-dragons face such a horrific adversary alone, or did an outside force help them? Were they given the strength they would become legendary for...or did they earn it with blood? Kalecgos’s discoveries will change everything he knows about the events....

Really good

This book is pretty good, a lot of fun, some great lore, and was a lot of fun.

A slow-burner

The story tends to drag here and there ,but the narrator's absolute scenery chewing over-acting (especially with Nozdormu and Galakrond) makes up for it in spades.

Great Story!

I noticed some other reviews mention how mono tone the reader sounds, but it only sounds that way in the beginning. Once the story picks up, that changes and frankly, his voices are EXCELLENT. He really brings it to life the longer you listen. I love this book. The story is amazing as well, so much lore and detail.

Wonderful book and performance

Great book, and a wonderful lead into the recent expansion. If you want a good idea on the lore of the dragons, this is a must read.

It's... Alright

This story reads a bit like fan fiction. Like a smaller idea that would make a solid and compact chapter of a larger book has been extracted from its source material and then stretched and given some filler. I hate saying it, but our main character could be completely written out and it wouldn't change the story. Same with Jaina. The story is about the dragon aspects, so why not just write a story about that? Why include Kalec and Jaina when they don't serve any purpose other than name recognition?

It's not a bad story, it just feels like blizzard and the author didn't bring their A-game.

Good story, but the narrator....

It's a good story, but WHY did the narrator make Nozdormu sound like a snake??? He sounds NOTHING like that. it makes me cringe every time he does Nozdormu's voice.

narrator and story were amazing

at 1.5 speed the story is awesome and really adds to the drama. the story was slow at times but this made up for it. I'll be continuing this series for sure.

Terrible

One of the worst WOW tie in novels. The main character’s consciousness is sent back in time to witness past events. So,it’s a story about a guy watching a story. He can’t interact or change anything and his part takes up half the runtime. What’s the point? Tons of action scenes but none of them mean anything. Narration is dull but one character sounds like a bad Bella Lugosi impersonation.

Good story, not worth a credit

It's a really good story, but at a price point around $7 with a subscription cost of $15, it's just not worth using your monthly credit on.
