About this listen

USA Today and Amazon Top 5 best-selling author Harloe Rae delivers an unpausable romance packed with heart, emotion, and steam. Meet Jacob Evans—a broody single dad/mechanic—while he banters with Harper Wilson—a super bubbly dance instructor/bartender determined to move on from the past—on their road to happily ever after.

I used to believe Jacob Evans could be mine.

That was before he delivered unforgivable news rather than sweeping me off my feet.
Not that I can fault his choice.
He got the sweetest little girl out of the deal.

I took the heartbreak as a learning experience and moved on for the better.
Jake did the opposite—allowing bitterness to fill the void.
Only his daughter can pull him from the broody gloom.
Those moments are my favorite.

Not that it matters.
Jake isn’t anything to me other than a reminder of what almost was.

Besides, we couldn’t be more wrong for each other.
I’ve come to accept that.
But as it turns out, Jake hasn’t.

Very cute book

My feelings toward MMC started out a little rocky lol, but I loooove him so much. His daughter was adorable and I loved Harper from the very beginning.

4 stars.

This was a really cute book.
Steam/chemistry ✔️

old lovers reunited ✔️

While it was really cute and I enjoyed it, it probably won't be a reread. Not enough excitement in the mix. but did enjoy!

Beautiful second chance.

Single dad✅
Second chance✅
Small town✅
Wrong For You has everything I love in romance. A single dad devoted to his daughter, he reconnects with his first love and together they make a family. This book has the small town gossips, the helpful neighbor though she loves to gossip. Jacob’s devotion to Harper and Harper immediate affection and love for Sidney is absolutely beautiful. I admire and respect Morgan’s decision, it isn’t easy but her love for her daughter is the reason for her choice, it’s selfless and beautiful. Overall a beautiful story.

Wrong for me but may be right for you!

Okay, so being an author is a lot of work, and not everything they write is going to work for everyone. Unless a book is beyond horrible, I can't give a 1 star because it just didn't sit right with me. So I say all of that to say this one may have been great for some, but it just wasn't for me. I didn't connect to the characters, and that's going to happen. I found myself at one point fast forwarding through the scenes and every sex scene after the way the first intimate scene started. It didn't work for me, and I found him to be an ahole, and the kid sounded older than kindergarten and was given too much time in the book. I have already forgotten the names because of the lack of connection. The narrators I would give a 3.5 because she was okay, but I wasn't a fan of him most of the time. So, for me, it was probably a 2 star story, but for the work that went into it, I will give it a 3.

Swoony Second Chance!

“I’m the storm to your sunshine. You’re the smile to my scowl. We balance each other, baby.”

Oh my word, Wrong For You was even swoonier than I expected! When Jake Evans became a father at 21, he made a life-altering decision that broke two hearts. Harper's seething hatred of Jacob Evans knows no bounds...except the lingering love she may be hanging on to for him...deep, deep down. I loved the oil and water tension between Jake and Harper. Their snarky banter, smoldering attraction, and a meddling six-year-old made this one of my favorite audiobooks this year. I loved Harloe's cast of quirky small-town characters and her moving, heart-melting storytelling. Sydney was completely adorable and repeatedly stole the show. I need more Knox Creek in my life! Do yourself a favor and get this spicy, opposites-attract, grumpy/sunshine romance now.

Wen Ross and Kai Kennicott were outstanding in their performances of Jake and Harper! Wen portrayed the broody, grouchy single dad mechanic impeccably. Kai was enchanting as the effervescent, bartending ballet teacher Harper. Their kid voices were hysterical and sweet. Wen and Kai are a terrific narrator duo; their styles complement one another and they play opposites perfectly. If you love swoony small-town romance with heaps of spice and relatable, complex characters, you're going to love Wrong For You!

Sweet story

I liked the story. It was cute just a few spots that it could have moved along. I’d suggest it to my friends though.

DNF…

Just couldn’t get into it.. felt to me like it was edited too much and took a lot of what needed to be there out and left so much of what didn’t need to be there.. I wish it would have had more of the before they broke up and the before relationship. I wasn’t invested in their relationship.. just couldn’t get into it even though I tried really hard!
