About this listen

The modern mammal metropolis of Zootopia is a city like no other. Comprised of habitat neighborhoods like ritzy Sahara Square and frigid Tundratown, it's a melting pot where no matter what you are, from the biggest elephant to the smallest shrew, you can be anything. But when optimistic Officer Judy Hopps arrives, she discovers that being the first bunny on a police force of big, tough animals isn't so easy. Determined to prove herself, she jumps at the opportunity to crack a case, even if it means partnering with a fast-talking scam-artist fox, Nick Wilde, to solve the mystery.

I've seen Zootopia (aka Zootropolis) over 4 times now. It's definitely one of my favourite Disney movies and as I was listening I could picture the entire movie as if I were watching it. Obviously the narrator is female and not an impressionist so that was noticeable when some of the male characters were speaking, but overall I think Schorr did an amazing job. The book is basically the movie word for word and I think I counted 2-3 difference in sentences in total. If you love the movie, this book is for you. I do recommend watching the movie first as some of the jokes don't translate correctly without the images in your head. I really enjoyed!

I would recommend this book to lovers of the movie Zootopia. It is the best movie ever (in my opinion). Th narration was a bit of a monologue to me, but I could understand it and still enjoyed the story. I do wish that the author included the last part of the last “scene”- that Flash the sloth is driving the speeding car! Anyway, it was a good book.

Love the book
