01 LRMMA Feb 25 Kumasi | Introduction

  • Summary

  • When it comes to love, relationships, marriage, parenting, and similar matters, many people assume they already know what to do. As a result, they often make little effort to learn and apply knowledge, especially divine wisdom, to help them navigate these areas effectively. This is because, as human beings, we are born with basic (animalistic) instincts that naturally guide us in performing certain tasks. However, unlike animals, we have rationality, which enables us to love, think, reason, and make choices. This also means that we have the capacity to abuse our basic instincts, often resulting in challenges and misery in our relationships and marriage.

In a time where marriage is under attack, Pastor Jeffrey Walter is inspired by the Lord to restore sanity and hope in marriage by painting vividly what God intends marriage to be. Throughout the month of February, by the series, “Love, Relationships, Marriage and Matters Arising”, he presents godly wisdom on what the Lord intends for marriage to be, as well as the prescribed methods by which it is to be engaged in.

In this introductory message, Pastor Jeffrey Walter offers a detailed explanation of basic instincts and rationality, highlighting their integral role in human nature and drawing a clear distinction between man and animals. He further explores how humans can abuse their basic instincts when they fail to rule it with rationality and instead arrogantly believe they can navigate life solely based on their natural inclinations. Additionally, he highlights the challenges and misery that befall those who misuse their basic instincts in their relationships and marriages. Finally, he sheds light on the true joy found in marriage, and admonishes believers to dedicate themselves to learning and embracing the divine principles of love and marriage.

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Proverbs 14:12 KJV

Beloved, do not be deceived! You cannot truly love or marry by relying solely on your basic instincts. If you commit to learning and being guided by divine wisdom for marriage, you will surely avoid misery and enjoy the true blessing of marriage.
