• Ep 117: Information Overload!
    Apr 1 2025
With easy access to so much information today, sky's the limit to almost anything we want to know. Concurrently, the access is often overwhelming and can be more harmful than helpful. Opinions are misunderstood as facts. Information is taken out of context. Discernment becomes shaky. Are we using information responsibly? How are we showing up when we are wrong about a topic? Our ability to think independently, practice due diligence, and stay open to other perspectives is more critical than ever. Easy access to information devalues the need to hold it in your head Now we need to know a little about a lot of things for relatability Curiosity leads to expansion of knowledge naturally Willingness to change your opinions We need to constantly be thinking for ourselves We need to be clear on how we want to use information It’s not the information itself, but what we’re making it mean ------------------------- CONNECT WITH JEFF: Website: https://jeffmillercoaching.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffmillercoaching/ IG: @jeffmillercoaching FB: https://www.facebook.com/jeff.miller.7965 Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/jeffmillercoaching CONNECT WITH TATSU: Website: https://tatsuyafushimi.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tatsuyafushimi/ IG: @tatsuyafushimi FB: https://www.facebook.com/tatsuya.fushimi.9/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/tatsuyafushimi

  • Ep 116: Social Media
    Mar 25 2025
We all have ideas about the dangers and benefits of social media. But how intentional are we being with those tools? Are we using social media or is it using us? How authentically are we showing up on those platforms? Are we using it as an automatic mental numbing tool? Regardless of how we use social media, ownership and awareness of it is key. Social media amplifies who you already are Piecing together snippets of information to understand context Distinction between using social media as a tool and it using you Self-judgment with posting content It comes down to being clear on the intention at the moment Being aware of your automatic natural comparison to others Balancing promoting business and personal boundaries on social media Clarity and commitment to engaging and adding value ------------------------- CONNECT WITH JEFF: Website: https://jeffmillercoaching.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffmillercoaching/ IG: @jeffmillercoaching FB: https://www.facebook.com/jeff.miller.7965 Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/jeffmillercoaching CONNECT WITH TATSU: Website: https://tatsuyafushimi.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tatsuyafushimi/ IG: @tatsuyafushimi FB: https://www.facebook.com/tatsuya.fushimi.9/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/tatsuyafushimi

  • Ep 115: A Lie Is A Lie
    Mar 18 2025
The truth is, we often don’t tell the truth. We overtly lie, sugarcoat, or omit information more often than we know. We are masters of hiding and manipulating our truth and we’ve been practicing it since we were kids. We are walking hypocrites wanting more transparency everywhere. Perhaps we’re afraid of what the truth will reveal about ourselves and others. In this episode, we explore the behavior of lying as an opportunity to recalibrate the importance of honesty in our lives. Telling lies seems to be an early trait White lies, big lies, omitting the truth -3:30 Jeff How important is the value of honesty? - 5:45 Tatsu Full honesty vs. blunt truth - 7:48 Jeff Pure honesty is refreshing - 11:16 Tatsu Owning the delivery of your truth - 13:25 Jeff What’s the root of lying? - 15:25 Tatsu/Jeff The parent conundrum of lying - 17:26 Jeff Is our lying in integrity with how we want to live - 19:03 Jeff Our inability to strongly enforce transparency - 19:57 Tatsu Where are we overly sugarcoating? - 20:47 Jeff Links mentioned: ------------------------- CONNECT WITH JEFF: Website: https://jeffmillercoaching.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffmillercoaching/ IG: @jeffmillercoaching FB: https://www.facebook.com/jeff.miller.7965 Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/jeffmillercoaching CONNECT WITH TATSU: Website: https://tatsuyafushimi.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tatsuyafushimi/ IG: @tatsuyafushimi FB: https://www.facebook.com/tatsuya.fushimi.9/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/tatsuyafushimi

  • Ep 114: The Win/Win Isn't Easy
    Mar 11 2025
In making decisions with multiple people involved, from negotiating a business deal to deciding what to eat for dinner, the result is often a Win/Lose or Lose/Lose. A compromise is typically a loss. How mindful are you about creating Win/Wins? And how willing are you to do so? What are your limitations for creativity and transparency? What does a Win look like for you? How about the other people involved? Considering these questions can lead to a powerful expansion of our minds and a deepening of our relationships. In this episode, we discuss nuances of the Win/Win that we may normally overlook. There’s usually someone getting the short end of the stick Lose/Lose, Win/Lose, Win/Win A good salesperson mitigates the gap It takes clarity on both sides The definition of a win for each person has to be clear Going for the Win/Win requires leading with transparency Creativity comes into play if you really want to find the Win/Win Having an agenda is great, but stay open to what’s being said in the moment Why is it important to play for the Win/Win? ------------------------- CONNECT WITH JEFF: Website: https://jeffmillercoaching.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffmillercoaching/ IG: @jeffmillercoaching FB: https://www.facebook.com/jeff.miller.7965 Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/jeffmillercoaching CONNECT WITH TATSU: Website: https://tatsuyafushimi.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tatsuyafushimi/ IG: @tatsuyafushimi FB: https://www.facebook.com/tatsuya.fushimi.9/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/tatsuyafushimi

  • Ep 113: Traps Of The Golden Rule
    Mar 4 2025
The Golden and Platinum Rules may not be as clear as we think. We may attach hidden conditions and expectations to how we show up for others. This can leave us feeling disempowered, contrary to the basic intention of both rules. The essence of both rules is simple, but people globally have different values and perspectives. Therefore, a blend of both rules may be optimal, which requires deeper inquiry into ourselves and others. The Golden Rule and Platinum Rule Limitation to both rules Foundational value of treating others with respect Beyond the Golden Rule with expectation The simple form of the Golden Rule is universal A blend of both The Platinum Rule doesn’t exist without having some relationship A way of being to look for practicing both rules Violation of the rules with how we treat ourselves ------------------------- CONNECT WITH JEFF: Website: https://jeffmillercoaching.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffmillercoaching/ IG: @jeffmillercoaching FB: https://www.facebook.com/jeff.miller.7965 Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/jeffmillercoaching CONNECT WITH TATSU: Website: https://tatsuyafushimi.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tatsuyafushimi/ IG: @tatsuyafushimi FB: https://www.facebook.com/tatsuya.fushimi.9/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/tatsuyafushimi

  • Ep 112: Shame On Your Body!
    Feb 25 2025
There is no positive outcome that stems from body shaming, yet it continues to be integrated into society, culture, and education through visual imagery and speech. We repeatedly attempt to fix the problem with Band-Aids. However, accessing the root of the issue requires much more than silly Band-Aids that look from the outside in. Accessing the root requires deep personal transformation which, for many, is too confronting and time and energy-consuming. In this episode, we discuss our past and current relationship with body shaming. Hearing body shaming since childhood We were ruthless to others because we were ruthless to ourselves Noticing how you feel inside Understand what’s underneath the judgment first Body shaming comes down to lack of self-love Society and education inputs shame We try to make ourselves feel better by making someone else feel worse Comparison to other people Can we accept others and ourselves for who we are and continue to grow? ------------------------- CONNECT WITH JEFF: Website: https://jeffmillercoaching.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffmillercoaching/ IG: @jeffmillercoaching FB: https://www.facebook.com/jeff.miller.7965 Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/jeffmillercoaching CONNECT WITH TATSU: Website: https://tatsuyafushimi.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tatsuyafushimi/ IG: @tatsuyafushimi FB: https://www.facebook.com/tatsuya.fushimi.9/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/tatsuyafushimi

  • Ep 111: New Year's Resolutions Don't Work
    Feb 18 2025
January has a flavor of new beginnings, a chance at a fresh start. We’ve all experienced creating a New Year’s resolution, starting it, and falling off within a short period of time. Seemingly highly motivated at first, why do we quit so soon? What’s wrong with us? In this episode, we discuss subconscious beliefs and setting ourselves up for sustainable transformation regardless of when we decide to begin. Why we quit on New Year's resolutions and goals What’s your plan and who are you going to be during the process? Reinforcing subconscious self-doubt Intention to improve stemming from what’s wrong with us Setting drastic big goals is not how you achieve sustainable transformation A shift in identity has to happen before we see certain results People have a goal, come up against strong resistance, and use twisted logic to make the resistance justifiable What do you need to close the gaps? • Ep 110: The Wisdom Of Frustration
    Feb 11 2025
We often experience frustration because our expectations do not match reality. Taking a moment to pause reveals many more instances of frustration than we were aware of. The rabbit hole can go deep. Acknowledging the frustration and staying curious about the root of it in each situation leads us toward invaluable insight into ourselves. The most common trap of processing frustration is blaming others and external circumstances, thereby avoiding the hidden wisdom. In this episode, we discuss how frustration is a powerful signal for us to pause and reflect deeply. Frustration with letting go of old identities When expectations don’t meet reality Expectations of others can leave us feeling powerless Kids are a reflection of parents up until a certain age Faulty premises Expectations vs. goals The secret sauce is in the alignment of the goal Clarity around your frustration ------------------------- CONNECT WITH JEFF: Website: https://jeffmillercoaching.com/ LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jeffmillercoaching/ IG: @jeffmillercoaching FB: https://www.facebook.com/jeff.miller.7965 Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/jeffmillercoaching CONNECT WITH TATSU: Website: https://tatsuyafushimi.com LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/tatsuyafushimi/ IG: @tatsuyafushimi FB: https://www.facebook.com/tatsuya.fushimi.9/ Books: https://www.amazon.com/author/tatsuyafushimi
