• DAILY DEVOTION WITH QUEEN ANGELA DAY 18 LOVE IN ACTION 1 JOHN 318
    Jul 18 2025
DAY 18: LOVE IN ACTIONScripture: 1 John 3:18 New International Version (NIV):Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.King James Version (KJV):My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.English Standard Version (ESV):Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth.New Living Translation (NLT):Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.Meaning: This verse encourages believers to express love not just in what they say, but through their actions and sincerity. True Christian love is demonstrated through what we do for others, not just with kind words.Affirmation: I demonstrate love through my actions.Word of the Day: KindnessLet kindness guide your actions today. One small, intentional act can create a ripple effect—touching lives in ways you may never see. Be the reason someone believes in God’s love in action!IntroductionWelcome to Day 18 of our devotional journey! Today’s focus is a transformative truth: love is much more than just words; it is fully realized in our actions. In a world full of empty promises and fleeting affection, Jesus calls us to love in a way that makes a tangible difference. Let’s explore how we can move from saying “I love you” to showing “I love you”—every single day.Backstory: The Foundation (1 John 3:18)“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” — 1 John 3:18 (NIV)John, known as the apostle of love, writes these words to an early church wrestling with how to live out their faith in practical terms. He knew that love isn’t just a sentiment. In a time when the world was mostly hostile to Christians, he urged believers not to simply talk about love, but to live it—meeting practical needs, showing kindness, and serving sacrificially.Powerful Detailed LessonIt’s easy to say “I love you,” but genuine love is proven by what we do. Jesus was not content with giving motivational talks—He demonstrated love with every step, from feeding the hungry (Mark 6:34-44), to washing the disciples’ feet (John 13:12-15), to laying down His life for us all (John 15:12-13). The world sees our faith most clearly not when we preach, but when we practice.James underscores this truth: "Suppose a brother or a sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to them, 'Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,' but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?" — James 2:15-16 (NIV)If our actions don’t match our words, our love is hollow. Real love enters messy situations, rolls up its sleeves, and gets involved.3 Powerful Detailed TakeawaysDive Deeper: 3 Transformative Lessons on Love1. Authentic Love Demands More than Words Key Verse: “Let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” (1 John 3:18) True love isn’t just something we talk about—it’s something we do. This lesson challenges us to move beyond well-meaning words and step into genuine, practical service. Reflect: How can you put love into action for someone in need this week?2. Love is Our Loudest Witness Key Verse: “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:35) The world recognizes Jesus through our acts of love. Our kindness and unity become unmistakable proof of our faith. Pause and consider: What do your actions say about your faith to those watching? How can you show Christ’s love more boldly?3. Compassion Creates Lasting Change Key Verse: “If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” (1 John 3:17) When we open our hands and hearts to others, God works in and through us—transforming both the giver and the receiver. Take a moment to reflect: Where are opportunities around you to be an agent of God’s compassion today?Let these lessons sink in. Take time to meditate on these truths and ask, “How can I make love visible in my life?” For further study, read the full passages and journal about ways you can embody authentic, Christ-like love each day.3 Powerful How to ApplyRadically Meet Needs—TodayDon’t wait for a perfect moment—open your eyes to the needs right in front of you. Is there a neighbor struggling with groceries? A coworker feeling invisible? Step up and meet that need wholeheartedly. Bring a homemade meal to a family going through crisis. Offer a listening ear—or even just a smile—to someone weighed down by stress. When you respond to these everyday opportunities with humility and generosity, you become a living extension of Jesus’ love. Remember His promise: “Give, and it will be given to you.” (Luke 6:38) What you sow in kindness returns in ways you can’t imagine.2. Serve Where It Hurts—Give Until It CostsTrue service isn’t about convenience—it’s about...

  • 7/17/25 DAILY DEVOTION WITH QUEEN ANGELA | DAY 17: USING OUR GIFTS-1 PETER 4:10
    Jul 17 2025
DAY 17: USING YOUR GIFTScripture: 1 Peter 4:10 (NIV)"Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms."Powerful Intro:Imagine a world where each person fully embraced their talents and used them—unashamedly, unapologetically—for good. Picture the transformation in your family, your community, your church, even the world if everyone stepped into their unique calling. What if today you realized that your gifts—no matter how ordinary they may seem—are extraordinary tools in the hands of God? Today is the day to unwrap what God has given you and let the world be blessed by your divine fingerprint.Backstory of the Scripture:The apostle Peter wrote this letter to encourage believers who were experiencing hardship, reminding them of their purpose and responsibility as members of God’s family. With persecution looming, Peter insists that the church use its gifts to serve one another selflessly. In doing so, they would reveal God’s grace in practical, powerful ways. He wanted Christians not to hide their talents, but to steward them faithfully for the strength and unity of the body of Christ.Lesson: Demonstrating 1 Peter 4:10You are uniquely created, intentionally gifted, and purposefully placed. 1 Peter 4:10 is not just a suggestion—it’s a calling. God has deposited divine gifts and abilities in each and every one of us. You may be a great listener, a wise organizer, a talented artist, or a peacemaker. Your gift may be encouragement, hospitality, teaching, or faith—but whatever it is, it is intended not solely for your benefit but to bless others and reflect God’s goodness. When you use your gifts in service to others, you become a living channel of God’s grace. Your willingness multiplies blessings. Sometimes, we overlook our abilities, comparing ourselves to others or minimizing what God has placed in us. But God calls you to honor your gift, to nurture it, and to use it for His glory. When we serve, we proclaim loudly: "Here I am, Lord—use me for Your purpose!"3 Powerful Takeaways:1. Your Gift is Unique and PurposefulRomans 12:6 – "We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us."God’s design is intentional. He is the master craftsman who intricately forms each person with unique gifts, perspectives, and callings. There has never been, nor will there ever be, another you. Your life is the only “you-shaped” reflection of God’s creativity in all of human history.God’s grace is the divine power behind your gift. He didn’t look at you and randomly assign an ability; instead, He knit your gifts and passions together to fit your purpose and your placement in His greater plan. Your upbringing, challenges, victories, and even your quirks are woven into your gift’s effectiveness.Going Deeper: When you compare yourself to others, you slight the divine intention God had for creating you. Instead, celebrate that your gift, no matter how big or small it seems, fills a unique gap in God’s Kingdom that no one else can fill.2. Gifts are Meant to Serve OthersMatthew 5:16 – "Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."Your gifts are not trophies to sit on a shelf—they are tools meant to impact the world. When God gave you a gift, He put it in your hands not for your glory, but for the good of those around you. Every act of service, every word of encouragement, every kindness or solution you bring using your gift, is like lighting a candle in the darkness for someone else. The world grows brighter each time you use your gift generously. Serving shifts your perspective from “me-centered” to “God and others-centered.” In that shift, your gift finds its highest purpose and deepest fulfillment.Going Deeper: Ask yourself: Who is blessed when I use my gift? Who misses out if I don’t? Realize that someone, somewhere, is waiting for what only you can offer.3. Using Your Gift Honors GodColossians 3:23-24 – "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters…It is the Lord Christ you are serving."When you use your talents wholeheartedly, you turn everyday actions into an act of worship. God isn’t looking for perfection—He delights in your willingness and faithfulness. Every moment you dedicate your time, skill, or resources in service, God receives it as an offering. When you steward your gifts well—developing, sharing, and growing them—you give God the ultimate glory. You become a living witness to His goodness and faithfulness. People will see God’s fingerprints in your life, and He is magnified through your obedience.Going Deeper: Think about the legacy you want to leave. When others remember you, let it be that your gifts pointed them to a God who loves, equips, and empowers His children.Let these truths settle in your spirit:- Your gifting shows you were designed...

  • 21 DAY CHALLENGE W/ QUEEN ANGELA |Day 16: Book Excerpt Reading | THE POEM WISDOM & KNOWLEDGE BY LASHAI RUCKMAN FROM HER BOOK ROOTED CHILD
    Jul 16 2025
The Power of Engagement: Why Sharing Excerpts MattersAs authors, we pour our hearts, experiences, and imaginations into our stories. Yet, getting our books into the hands of readers is about more than just publishing—it’s about building genuine connections. One powerful way to foster that relationship is by sharing excerpts from your book. Why Share Excerpts?Sharing snippets of your work gives potential readers a taste of your voice and vision. It’s like inviting someone to read the first chapter over coffee—it builds anticipation, curiosity, and trust. When you offer passages that stir emotion, spark reflection, or raise questions, your audience feels included in your journey. How Does It Build Connection? When readers engage with your excerpts, they begin to see themselves in your story. Maybe they are inspired by a character, moved by a poem, or fascinated by your perspective. Inviting them to share their responses, thoughts, and interpretations encourages dialogue—and every comment or share brings you closer to your audience, transforming readers into loyal fans.Tip: Share a meaningful excerpt on your social media or in your newsletter. Pose an open-ended question—“How does this resonate with you?” or “Which lines speak to your heart?” Watch as your community comes alive around your words!Author of the Week: Lashai RuckmanDay 16: Book Excerpt ReadingThe Poem: Wisdom & KnowledgeExcerpt: “I WILL CONTINUE TO BE KIND, GENEROUS IN MY GIVING.GRACIOUS IN MY GRATUITUDE,KIND YET FIRM IN MY CRITICISM.CREATIVE IN MY SUGGESTIONS.LOVING IN MY ATTITUDE”Meaning and Discussion Invitation:In this thought-provoking poem, Lashai Ruckman reminds us that wisdom and knowledge are more than information—they are living virtues, cultivated through experience and humility. Age or academic achievement don’t guarantee wisdom; rather, it’s the willingness to listen, reflect, and learn from our journeys and each other. The lines, “For wisdom listens before it speaks, And knowledge humbly seeks to learn,” invite us not only to seek answers but to genuinely engage with the world around us. Lashai’s words shine a light on the importance of pairing understanding with humility—a lesson as profound in literature as in life.Discussion:
    • How have wisdom and knowledge shaped your journey?
    • Do you have a life lesson where you found wisdom through experience?
    • What lines from the poem resonate most with you?

  • 7-16-25 | DAILY DEVOTION with Queen Angela | Day 16: Embracing New Beginnings
    Jul 16 2025
Welcome to Day 16, family! Today we’re leaning in to the beautiful truth that, in Christ, every single day is a brand-new beginning. Our past doesn’t define us, because in Him, our future is filled with hope and new possibilities!Backstory:Have you ever wished for a fresh start? Life gets messy, we make mistakes, and sometimes the burden of yesterday feels overwhelming. But when we surrender our lives to Jesus, His love wipes away our old history. Our identity is no longer found in who we used to be—it’s found in who we are becoming, because of His grace. God specializes in new beginnings; it’s His love language!Lesson: In Christ, We Are Made NewThe moment we say “yes” to Jesus, God does an incredible transformation in our hearts. We are not just fixed, we are made new—reborn spiritually. Our story is rewritten. No matter what your yesterday looked like, today is a new page. God gives you permission to start fresh.Short Story / Illustration:There once was a young woman named Maya who carried heavy regrets from her past—poor decisions, broken relationships, missed opportunities. She felt burdened and unworthy, wearing shame like a cloak, never allowing herself to dream of new chapters. One Sunday, Maya heard a message at church about God’s forgiveness. The pastor read, “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us” (Psalm 103:12). In that quiet moment, Maya prayed honestly for the first time, surrendering her burdens to Christ. A peace flooded her heart and, for the first time, she truly believed she was forgiven and free—her slate wiped clean. As Maya grew in her journey with Jesus, she discovered that God wasn’t just erasing her old mistakes, but actually giving her a new sense of self. When she read, “For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God” (Colossians 3:3), a light bulb turned on in her heart. Maya realized she was no longer “the one who messed up”—she was God’s beloved daughter, created for more. Her new identity was now found in Christ, not in her past. One day, Maya faced a challenging situation but remembered a verse her mentor shared: “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19). Instead of shrinking back in fear, Maya trusted God’s promise that He was doing something new inside her. Each morning, she woke with hope, knowing God was writing a fresh story over her life. Thanks for reading Da Visionary Queen Angela Thomas Smith ! This post is public so feel free to share it.ShareThree Powerful Takeaways (With Scripture):You Are Forgiven and Free“As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:12) In Christ, your past is forgiven. You are free to live without condemnation. You Have a New Identity“For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God.” (Colossians 3:3) You’re no longer defined by old habits or mistakes. Your real identity is now in Him.God is Doing Something New in You“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?” (Isaiah 43:19) God is always working; every day brings new mercies and fresh grace.Three Ways to Apply This Truth (With Scripture):Release Your Past to GodPray and give your burdens to Him. “Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” (1 Peter 5:7)Renew Your Mind DailyFill your thoughts with His truth. “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” (Romans 12:2)Walk in ExpectancyStart each day believing God is doing something new. “Because of the Lord’s great love, we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning.” (Lamentations 3:22-23)Word of Encouragement:Family, take heart and SPEAK LIFE, no matter where you find yourself today. Stay the course, and don’t let discouragement turn your praise into complaining. When you feel the urge to give up, remember: God has never quit on you—not once, not ever.Think of Jesus on the cross—He endured unimaginable pain for us, yet He said not one word in protest, fulfilling His mission in love and silence. If He didn’t complain as He paid the price for our freedom, how much more should we lift our voices in gratitude, even in the hard places?Don’t quit on God, because He is still writing your story. Every stumble, every shortcoming, is an opportunity for His grace to shine brighter through you. You are not damaged goods! You are a masterpiece in progress, held together by His faithfulness. His mercies are brand new every single morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). So don’t allow the mistakes of yesterday steal the joy God has for you today or the promise He holds for you tomorrow. Praise Him in all things, trust His process, and believe that your fresh beginning is already in motion.Stay the course, King and Queen—your gratitude and perseverance are ...
