In a press conference ahead of this weekend's Turkish Grand Prix, Max stressed that losing the championship to Hamilton would not have any real impact on his life, saying… "I always do my best and I know the team is always doing the best they can… "If that's going to be enough, at the end of the year first, then that's an amazing achievement and that's what we work for, right? "But I think even if we finish second we will have had a great season, and at the end of the day, it's not going to change my life! “I enjoy what I'm doing and I think that is also very important! “For me, there is not much to worry about, really... "You just have to work well and work hard together and then we will find out at the end of the season where that will put us...  “Is it first, or is it second? “We don't know!" I’m not sure sis, I feel like winning a World Championship would change every drivers life! Lewis Hamilton has also spoken about the pressure of this championship battle, saying… “It's not a case of ignoring the pressure, as it's there, but it's the understanding that what will be will be… “All you can do is prepare the best way you can, all you can do is give it 100 per cent and what's coming up is coming up! "I just don't worry about those things...  “I'm very fortunate in the past I've had lots of ups and downs but had an amazing time, a lot of growth, I don't worry about 'what if', that's up ahead... "I try and prepare for now, that means making sure I've done the work with the guys back at the factory, with Bono and the team, and that ultimately we enjoy it!  “We've got to enjoy it! "What an amazing season it's been so far, it's been super exciting for fans, massively engaging with Netflix around the world, new people coming in, we finally see two teams neck and neck which is amazing, and of course we want to win...  “But you've got to learn to let that not overtake everything in your life!" It’s starting to sound as if Lewis is gaining a mental edge in this battle… There has been some drama just before the start of the Turkish Grand Prix weekend, with the medical crew testing positive for Covid and needing to be replaced!  Formula One and the governing FIA said the pair had not travelled to Istanbul and a team from the all-electric Formula E championship was standing in for them... Formula E's Safety Car driver Bruno Correia will drive the medical car, while the Formula E medical delegate Bruno Franceschini will replace Roberts... South African van der Merwe and Briton Roberts helped former Haas driver Romain Grosjean make a 'miracle' escape from a fiery Bahrain Grand Prix crash last year and were hailed as heroes after the drama… Finally, Lando Norris is ready to put his Sochi heartbreak behind him, and is eager to get back in the car this weekend in Turkey… Norris said… “I’m very energised and excited for this weekend, we’ve come off the back of two very good weekends, both from Italy and of course Russia, especially with how Russia ended I just want to get back in the car and try again! “It’s not going to be a guarantee or anything that we’ll be able to do as well, we might not score another pole position or be able to get on the podium necessarily but we can still have a good weekend, get some points on the board and that’s the aim for this weekend! “I don’t know what kind of places we’ll be really strong at, what places we won’t be… “I would say I don’t think we were expected to be quite as ...

Hello and welcome to F1 News Today with Tillie!  Let’s take a look at what’s making news in the world of Formula 1 today… 1) Carlos Sainz To Take Engine Penalty In Turkey 2) Red Bull Turning Japanese At Turkish Grand Prix 3) Mercedes Buzzing Ahead Of Turkey Says Toto Wolff 4) Fernando Alonso: “Very fast reference” Ocon helped readjustment to F1 We’re powered by the F1 Chronicle, make sure you visit f1chronicle.com for more news, and subscribe to the F1 Chronicle YouTube channel so you never miss an episode of F1 News Today.  ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Visit the Grid Talk store ►  https://f1chronicle.com/store/ Subscribe ► https://www.youtube.com/c/Formula1GridTalk  Follow ► Facebook – https://www.facebook.com/F1ChronicleOfficial/  Twitter – https://twitter.com/F1Chronicle  Tumblr – https://f1chronicle.tumblr.com/  Artwork ► Avatar by Chereverie Twitter: @mewdokas Tumblr: chereverie Instagram: chereverie.art ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Transcription ►   Hello and welcome to F1 News Today with Tillie!    Right, let’s take a look at what’s making news in the world of Formula 1 today… First up, Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz will start from the back of the grid at the Turkish Grand Prix after the team decided to fit his car with a new power unit this weekend! The new complete power unit will take Sainz over his quota of engine and hybrid components for the year, meaning he will have to start the race from the back of the grid… Speaking before the race, the team said… "As was the case for Charles Leclerc in Russia, in Turkey Carlos Sainz will take a completely new power unit fitted with the new hybrid system... "Therefore, he will start from the back of the grid with the aim of climbing up the order to try and score some points! "Mattia Binotto will not attend the Turkish Grand Prix, but as was the case several times last year, the team principal will be based in the Maranello factory to focus on the development of next year's car… “He will, of course, follow all sessions and the race from the Remote Garage, with a permanent link to the team at Istanbul Park… That’s disappointing news, vamos Carlos. Speaking of changes for Turkey, Red Bull will be turning Japanese this weekend, at what would have been Honda’s last race in F1 in Japan! Red Bull will run a special livery, with team boss Christian Horner saying… “We had all been looking forward to giving Honda’s Japanese fans a chance to celebrate our extremely successful relationship in Formula One, on home soil at Suzuka...  “With the race falling victim to the pandemic, we just couldn’t let the weekend pass without paying tribute to Honda and its amazing home fans by bringing a little bit of its heritage to Istanbul! “The livery chosen for our cars pays homage to Honda’s remarkable F1 journey, and hopefully we can give fans another victory in those legendary colours this weekend… As is becoming tradition on this podcast, we can’t hear from Red Bull without also hearing from Mercedes! Toto Wolff has said his team are buzzing ahead of the Turkish Grand Prix! Speaking before the race, Wolff said… ‘There’s been a brilliant buzz in the team over the last week or so...  ‘Being back on the top step of the podium was an incredible feeling for all of us, and particularly after such a dramatic race weekend! ‘It was obviously made even more special by being Lewis’ 100th race win in Formula One!  ‘In the moment, milestones like this are exceptional, but I think it will take time for us to all realise just how remarkable this period of time is, and how privileged we all are to be part of this journey with him... ‘The final moments of the last race in Russia proved that anything can happen in F1 and fortunes can change in the blink of an eye! ‘This season is keeping all of us on our toes and that’s something we’re enjoying immensely, but it also means we have to be aggressive with our approach to the season, in order to maximise the points available... ‘That’s our focus for Turkey and beyond! ‘I know Lewis, Valtteri and the entire team are fired up for the battle that lies ahead, and we look set for another exciting race this weekend at Istanbul Park, where there are still many unknowns for us because of the track surface and weather conditions in 2020... ‘It’s an exciting track layout and a good one for racing, so I think we’ll be in for another spectacular twist in this brilliant F1 season… Finally, Fernando Alonso has credited his teammate Esteban Ocon with his resurgence, saying…  “It has been very close this year... “At the beginning of the year, it was not even close! ‘I was not up to speed, for sure...  ‘So, it was very helpful to have Esteban on top of his game! “To ...
