Maria Adebowale-Schwarte, CEO of the Foundation for Future London, has launched a new podcast series about the communities we support and the work that we deliver.
In this first issue, Maria speaks to Matt Lane, CEO and Artistic Director of children and young people charity Eastside, and Louise Kent, a young trainee involved with Eastside, exploring the subject of ‘Future of Creative Education’. Eastside’s young producers also recorded and produced this first podcast.
In 2022, Eastside received a Capital Grant from our Westfield East Bank Creative Futures Fund.
The Fund is an ambitious five-year programme, funded by retailer Westfield Stratford City, that aims to invest £10 million in to local communities of Newham, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Waltham Forest. The programme will provide new jobs, learning, training and educational programmes through the means of arts, culture, innovation, public realm and creative placemaking.
Eastside is also supported through our Foundations Programme, co-funded by City of London, for the Creative Schools programme, a project that aims to give children and young people in schools and colleges with limited arts and cultural provision to experience creative arts projects with professional artists and help give teachers continuing professional development in using arts, culture and creativity in their lessons.
Eastside is an arts organisation that works with children and young people in and out of school to provide high quality arts and culture learning experiences.
