  • 313 Rejection Sensitivity Is Real (But I Reject RSD)
    Apr 29 2025

Rejection hurts—especially when you have ADHD. For years, the term Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) has helped many of us put language to that experience. But in this episode, I explain why I’m no longer using that term—and what I’m saying instead.

    We’ll cover:

    1. What rejection sensitivity actually is
    2. Why it makes total sense (and it's not a disorder)
    3. What’s problematic about the term RSD...in my opinion
    4. What the research really says about rejection and ADHD
    5. How trauma, therapy, coaching, and yes—medication—can all help

This episode is validating, spicy, and rooted in both lived experience and science. Let’s talk about rejection sensitivity in a way that empowers us to heal.

    Resources Mentioned:

    1. Journal of Pediatric Psychology study on ADHD and peer rejection
    2. Dr. Dodson’s updated Additude article on RSD

  • 312 Autism, ADHD and AuDHD: Understanding the Overlap with Dr. Robert Naseef
    Apr 22 2025

In this episode of the I Have ADHD podcast, I have the absolute pleasure of sitting down with autism expert and clinician Dr. Robert Naseef to explore the deeply personal and complex relationship between autism and ADHD. Together, we reflect on the key differences between these two neurodivergent identities while celebrating the importance of self-acceptance and understanding.

We also touch on AuDHD, the experience of having both ADHD and autism—a dual diagnosis that is more common than many people realize. We explore what it looks like in real life, how it can be misunderstood, and why recognition of this intersection is so important.

Dr. Naseef shares his powerful journey as a father of a child with autism, and we talk about what it really means to support parents who are walking a similar path.

Our conversation touches on the primary traits of autism, the unique social experiences of autistic adults, and why embracing neurodiversity is so essential.

This episode is heartfelt, hopeful, and full of validation. Whether you're parenting a neurodivergent child or navigating your own neurodivergence, I hope you walk away feeling more connected, more informed, and more empowered.

YOU JUST 🤯 MY MIND

Stop waiting for motivation to come.
Stop beating yourself up for working at the last minute.

OMG - these are HUGE realizations for me. I've always said that if it weren't for deadlines, I'd never get anything done. I am a MASTER PROCRASTINATOR, which often leads to me creating a lot of undue stress due to the guilt I feel in putting things off until the last minute. I need to learn to accept this about myself, because I know it seldom changes & let's be honest, under pressure is when I do my best work!! Thank you for the validation in that & helping me to see that I need to give myself a little grace because I always come thru clutch.

Now I shall unpause this episode & continue my listening binge while I finish the massive project I'm working on (under the gun, of course 🤣)!!

Just discovered your podcast last night, 3 episodes in & I am HOOKED!

PS - I still don't have my taxes done!! Appointment with my accountant is Friday & I have yet to compile my business expenses! And no, that's NOT the project I'm currently working on, either!! 🥹
