  • Episode 404: Unsolved in Tasmania: Victoria Cafasso and Nancy Grunwaldt
    May 12 2025
Nancy Grunwaldt was a German tourist visiting Tasmania, Australia in March 1993 when she, and her red rental bike, seemingly vanished into thin air. After an inquest into her disappearance, it was presumed she was killed either due to foul play or as the result of a tragic accident, but she has never been found and her case remains unsolved. Two years later, in October 1995, Italian tourist Victoria Cafasso was her cousin in Tasmania when she was found stabbed to death on a beach in Beaumaris. Despite happening in broad daylight, her murder remains unsolved to this day. It is not likely that these cases are connected, but both remain unsolved and there are $500,000 rewards for information leading to convictions in both cases. No tip is too small. Anyone with any information about Victoria Cafasso or Nancy Grunwaldt can contact Tasmania Police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers Tasmania at crimestopperstas.com.au or on 1800 333 000. I am new to listening to podcasts. True crime is interesting to me. I watched many different show and now I have been listening to this podcast. I know most of the stories I've heard. Some facts about the cases I hadn't heard before. Thank you for taking the time to research these cases and talking about them. I hope the ones who don't have closure get that for the families.

Love this podcast

I love this podcast. I feel like the ladies are very relatable and down to earth. You can definitely hear their integrity for the cases and the victims that they tell. I love true crime, but I'm pretty new to podcasts. I've listened to the most famous ones like morbid. This one I will give five stars. I Want to be friends with these ladies So we could gap about psychology and cases all day long.

appreciation

I listened to a few episodes and I just can't continue - the main speaker does a very poor job - she has a very unfortunate habit of framing most of her sentences as questions, even though they're not questions.

The main speaker? Speaks like this?
