Jack Eichel finished fifth in balloting for the Selke Trophy, which is awarded annually to the outstanding defensive forward. Eichel garnered five first place votes in balloting from the PHWA. He finished behind Alexander Barkov, who won honors for a second consecutive year. Sam Reinhart, also of the Panthers was second. Then Tampa's Anthony Cirelli and the Devils Nico Heisher. Eichel comes off his best season in the league with 94 points. He continued to struggle in the faceoff circle again, which might cost him votes. We have the latest FanDuel prop bets. And, former VGK head coach Pete DeBoer, of the Dallas Stars, is still receiving backlash from his decisions in the Western Conference Final. There are reports players aren't happy about some of his coaching decisions.

According to reports VGK turned down a trade that would have sent Shea Theodore as the principal player in a deal for Toronto's Mitch Marner a year ago. We do not know who else was included in the deal, but VGK nixed it when the Maple Leafs wanted Theodore who scored 42 points a season ago and 57 points this past season. We also discuss odds in the Marner Sweepstakes. There was also a report by David Pagnotta of the Fourth Period over the weekend that said VGK is now entertaining offers for another defenseman, Nic Hague, who has played more games (364) thn any other Golden Knight. And we have the latest news heading into the Stanley Cup Final.

Maple Leafs GM Brad Treliving says he is allowing Mitch Marner "time to breathe" but will be in touch with his camp. Treliving said his club needs to change its DNA but didn't guarantee Toronto would offer a new contract for Marner. Meanwhile, Darren Drager said this week that insider Darren Drager has "serious interest" in Marner. We also talk about the Oilers close out of the Dallas Stars. The Oilers now face Florida in a Cup rematch of a year ago. And, it's WTF day on the show.

Frank Seravalli says there is potential for a sign and trade deal for Toronto that could send Mitch Marner to Las Vegas. It would be good for both parties if it happens. The Maple Leafs would receive a return for the free agent and VGK would need to clear cap space for Marner, if he comes to Las Vegas. The Golden Knights have been the only team prominently mentioned in the Marner Sweepstakes. Meanwhile, Darren Drager said Wednesday that there could be a discussion to return to Toronto for Marner if his camp is still open after July 1st. We also discuss the Conference Finals. Florida is back in the Stanley Cup Final. The Oilers could be their opponent if they win in Dallas tonight.

Just one year into his five-year deal, there are reports that former Golden Knight Jonathan Marchessault is looking to move on. He wasn't impressed with Nashville head coach Andrew Brunette or his coaching system. Marchessault was moved around a lot and played on various lines this past season, which led to him scoring only 21 goals this season. We also discuss William Karlsson's locker cleanout day quote of it being a "wasted season." Kelly McCrimmon, when asked about his comment, said it was simply raw emotion and not true at all.
