    In this episode, Amy Lee, the executive director of the OK Council for Economic Education (OCEE), and Dr. Sue Lynn Sasser, professor emeritus in economics discuss the importance of financial literacy. They have worked for several years to improve the education standards in Oklahoma for both personal finance and economics. We discuss those efforts, programs the OCEE have to help students and teachers, and why students need to understand the basics of personal finance and economics.

  • 37 - Santiago Ramones Recounts His Journey to U.S. Citizenship

    In this episode, Emily and James visit with Santiago Ramones, one of the producers for Not My Generation, about his process to becoming a U.S. citizen. Along the way, we learn the difference between Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status, permanent lawful resident ("Green Card" holders) status, and citizenship. In addition we learn that there is no clear delineation of rights to those in any of these statuses, and we discover the U.S. Department of Justice's Office of Denaturalization.

    In this episode, Dr. Brett Sharp (UCO) joins Emily in a conversation with Libertarian Party Chair and Bethany City Councilman Chris Powell. They discuss the process for getting a third party on the ballot in Oklahoma, how the Libertarian Party has been able to successfully maintain its ballot access in the state, and the challenges facing third parties and their candidates.
