Psychedelic Frequency takes listeners on an expansive, inward journey exploring the crossroads of sound, psychedelics, and wellness in this immersive, 10-episode series. Hosted by acclaimed hip-hop producer and recording artist Maejor, alongside co-host Natalie Lyla Ginsberg from the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS), the series takes listeners deep into the world of psychedelic therapy, unpacking its history and introducing some of the world’s foremost experts on MDMA, Ketamine, Ayahuasca, Psilocybin, LSD, and DMT.

The globetrotting series travels from Big Sur’s Esalen Institute for a holotropic breath workshop to Berlin’s psychedelic underground, a Los Angeles ketamine clinic, and Guatemala, where doctors are treating opioid dependency with the powerful hallucinogen, Ibogaine. Along the way, the series explores the entire taxonomy of the psychedelic experience, from the importance of set and setting to ego death, and how we synthesize these experiences to change the default setting within our minds.

With its emphasis on sound, the series is also a dense and deeply personal exploration of the psychedelic experience from the POV of a bevy of recording artists who share their life-altering experiences with Maejor, including Jim James from My Morning Jacket, Belly, Nathaniel Rateliff, Dead and Company bassist Oteil Burbridge, as well as Coldplay producer Jon Hopkins.

The series also features its own playlist of original music from Maejor, the recording artist Bi-Polar Sunshine, and Jared Gutstadt, tuned to the frequency of specific psychedelics to help the listener on their own inward quest.

  • Episode I: Intention
    Oct 12 2023

We introduce the listener to the key concepts in the series. What is a psychedelic? What is psychedelic therapy and how to set yourself up for a successful experience by setting an “intention.” We do the same for the series. In addition, we breakdown the hierarchy of psychedelics by bringing the listener into a Ayahuasca ceremony with “New Yorker” writer Emily Witt. Finally, we discuss the power of micro-dosing and the safe consumption of psychedelics with multiplatinum hip hop artist and producer Belly who joins Maejor in conversation about psilocybin from his studio-aptly titled LSD in Los Angeles.

  • Episode II: Set and Setting
    Oct 12 2023

We introduce the concept of set and setting as defined by Dr. Timothy Leary to the listener as one of the key components to a psychedelic experience. Set and setting really breaks down to who we are with and where we are can define the psychedelic experience for an individual.

This conversation serves as a bridge into why we do psychedelics and the search for answers about the divine questions of life-GOD. This includes set and setting in the context of ritual. This is followed by a conversation with Brian C. Muraresku, author of the groundbreaking new book “The Immortality Key.” He posits that the Greeks and early Christians both used a substance similar to LSD in their rituals and how this may have lead to the creation of Western Civilization and Christianity.

The Christian History is a little off.

This is a bit of my historical specialty.
Old Testament prophets had a reason for stumbling around naked in groups prophecying
Archeology backs up cultural accounts of use of pot, hash, mushrooms, and ayahuasca.
Moses was known to eat peganum Harmala seeds and chew shredded root bark. They're still called Mosheh Seeds in areas of the Middle East.
I would not be surprised to find out that the earliest Christians, who were called Natsarim. Which is a lot more like a messianic Jew but we do the so the feasts as it's said in the word rather than Saders, which is part of what Messiah Yahusha was scolding the Pharisees for.
One of the letters from the church in Rome in the Bible was to the catholic church about spawning gnosticism from their congregations. Back then, they had broken off of I think it was the nicolaitan church, who was one of the first dispensationalist churches, while the original held that, as they put it, There is neither Yahudiy (Jew) nor Yavaniy (Gentile), there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Yahusha Ha'Mashiach.
And if ye belong to Mashiach, then are ye Avraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.
GALATIYM (GALATIANS) 3:28 - 29

Which meant, if you follow then you keep the old law and ways which the Jews had abandoned.

Refreshing and New!

Such a thought-provoking podcast on psychedelics and wellness and I'm not even half away through. One episode delved into the potential therapeutic benefits of psychedelics, exploring their role in mental health and personal growth. The hosts provided informative insights, discussing the science and current research surrounding these substances. It was a captivating exploration of a topic that's gaining traction in the field of wellness and mental health. Highly recommend tuning in if you're curious about the intersection of psychedelics and well-being. Psychedelic's are one of those sensitive topics and even though I am not a consumer, I am grateful to hear stories and insights that so many people tuck away. Thank you Maejor and all the guest

Well done!

Beautiful, intentional, vulnerable and honest. Relax, and let Maejor take you to other worlds safely in your earbuds. Then explore, if you dare! As a veteran explorer who has both explored his own psyche and correspondingly led trips for over 30 years, I can attest to the beauty of the succinct, well conveyed wisdom in these episodes. Truth is spoken here!

Great listen

We are definitely heading a better direction with certain drugs and availability to it for growth and healing. Politicians have used the drug war far too long for their own agenda, all based on fear propaganda and false narratives. Science is showing more and more that drugs aren't the bad guys, and in fact can be helped for healing trauma. About time.

So entertaining and interesting

Loved it. Held my attention. Interesting ideas that help you form intention as a mindset even if it's just for meditation. Really cool subject that I intend on inquiring about. Like how music, art , frequency, rythyms, what would probably be considered blasphemous male so much sense. I've done every kind of club drug and would like to explore microdosing for therapy as I have become manic depressive. If you're interested in this Stinnett matter, listen with an open mind...
