  • EP126: Starvation Death Cult
    May 21 2025
In April 2023, Kenyan authorities uncovered a waking nightmare: hundreds of shallow graves scattered across the forest floor in Shakahola. What began as ten bodies quickly ballooned into over 400—most of them women and children, many brutally mutilated, raped, or missing organs like eyes, kidneys, and genitalia. These were not peaceful deaths. This was a killing field disguised as holy ground; an execution site for followers of Good News International Ministries, a Christian doomsday cult led by self-proclaimed pastor Paul Mackenzie. Indoctrinated with the belief that starving to death would bring them closer to Christ, victims surrendered food, freedom, and their lives - many buried alive, others butchered in ritualistic public executions. What investigators found wasn’t just mass murder - it was a religious apocalypse where obedience was fatal and faith became a death sentence. Please listen with caution. • EP125: Holy Hell: The Exorcism of Anna Ecklund
    May 14 2025
Join our Patreon family for access to BTS, bonus episodes, a private group chat, first dibs on ticket and merch sales, exclusive live streams, and more! www.Patreon.com/PsychopediaPod She spit, levitated, cursed in languages she’d never learned, and hissed at holy water like it was acid. This is the chilling story of Anna Ecklund—an American woman whose alleged possession wasn’t just a brief encounter with evil, but a decades-long war against it. Raised in a devout Catholic household in early 20th-century Wisconsin, Anna was barely into her teens when something unholy took root. Her appetite turned ravenous. Her thoughts grew violent. She couldn’t step foot inside a church without convulsing in rage... until 1928. That’s when Anna was taken to a remote Franciscan convent in Earling, Iowa, where a small group of nuns and priests locked themselves inside with her for 23 harrowing days and battled what they believed were not one, but multiple demons, including Lucifer himself. Inside the convent, witnesses claimed Anna screamed with inhuman voices, predicted death, levitated off her bed, and unleashed a stench so foul it was said to be “not of this world.” Was she tormented by true evil—or trapped in the grips of mental illness, untreated and misunderstood? This is the story of a woman whose torment blurred the line between theology and psychology...and left even the most devout shaken to their core. Absolutely binge worthy. I love this podcast. I'm an avid true crime fanatic. Normally, I would have to take breaks from the constant "doom & gloom". However, Tank brings his well informed levity while Investigator Slayer drops her wicked case bombs with her intellectually vicious rhetoric. The combination is refreshing. entertaining and hilarious. It means I NEVER have to stop listening. EVER. Keep it up. You guys ring my bell every time!

A friend recommended this podcast to me a few weeks ago...finally decided to listen on my 1hr commute home at 2am in the morning. Rocked my socks! Perfect mix of "Haha" and "Oh, shit!" Love that they cover the grit of the cases. Brooke and Tanks chemistry and history between one another is awesome and genuine! Racing to get through more episodes.

Love it already

Slater voice delivers. Tank I relate to you on so many levels.
thank you.

little side not for Tank. I recently had a friend say to me she thinks I could drink (sober 2 years now and I am the best version of my self!) I went along with what she was saying. then later she tried passing me her drink. I had to ask "is this alcohol? " i almost just grabbed and sipped outta reflects. but it hit me she didn't understand... and I replayed your conversation with investigator Slater. where she didn't understand. But new you and your struggle. this moment comforted me and kept me on a path that some drinkers just can't fathom. it won't stop there and there isn't enough booze once activated.

so thank you.
You are a key element to. this podcast. Tank love you
