  • Ep 67: Bonjour bitch
    Nov 18 2024

Did you ask for an unexpected special episode? I think you did!! Justine Lemaire is our special guest this week, hailing from Paris to bring us the peak of French music drama and just... french in general. She talks about Bertrand Contat and the scandals surrounding his personal life in the early 2000s and 2010s. There’s no better time to bring back the concept of public shame than in a room with your good friends and your childhood pet hamster. Humiliation comes easy to us, but that’s kinda the point (so fun so French)-- Merci!!

    Oct 31 2024

One last spooky solo story to make you wish you didn’t press play, or quite possibly the best haunted tale you have yet to hear!! Clarisse brings the last of our Halloween stories this year with a doozy: the most haunted music venue in America... Bobby Mackey’s. There is no shortage of crime history and paranormal activity here-- including, quite possibly, some of the scariest rocks you’ll ever encounter. A portal to hell is guaranteed and no, we are not talking about your front door into the real world. Happy Halloweener and stay away from people who don’t like pickles.

  • Ep 65: Foghorn
    Oct 31 2024

All aboard the SSS Lyssa this week (spooky solo story DUH) and batten down the hatches for another series of cursed songs within the realm of classical music-- which is the most terrifying as we all know! JK, but not really-- these three pieces haunted their composers as well as those that surrounded the production and performances of each one, there are even some speculations of related deaths thrown into the chaos. Have fun listening to Piano Sonata No. 6 by Alexander Scriabin, Devil’s Trill Sonata by Giuseppe Tartini, and Insha Ji Utho by Amanat Ali Khan. Be weary of those cold sores and don’t go on to write 9th sonatas annnnnd the devil definitely plays the violin. We don’t make the rules here, tonal music does.
