  • Episode 34 - Kim Davis - Star of the True Crime Pocast Slaycation!
    Nov 14 2024

Our guest today on Rule 42 is Kim Davis – the host of the gripping true crime podcast – Slaycation. A mom, cancer survivor, dedicated crafter, and proud New Yorker with a passion for storytelling. Kim’s background is as diverse as it is impressive, with a history in performing arts that spans dance, theater, film, and publishing. But beyond her creative pursuits, she’s also made a significant impact as a social worker specializing in domestic violence, giving her a front-row seat to some of the darkest sides of human behavior.

Despite the heaviness of that work, Kim’s true passion lies in true crime. From her early days binge-watching First 48 and Forensic Files, she’s been fascinated by the genre, with a book collection that resembles a mini crime library. Though she sometimes wishes she’d become a crime scene investigator, Kim has instead poured her investigative energy into her own true crime podcast.

This podcast is a collaborative effort with her comedy writer husband, Adam, and longtime friend, Jerry. Kim meticulously researches each case, leading listeners through stories that captivate and horrify, all in a quest to understand the psychology behind true human evil. While that answer may still elude her, Kim’s enthusiasm and dedication make every episode an unforgettable experience.

Join us as we dive into Kim’s world—one filled with creativity, resilience, and a never-ending fascination with the mysteries of true crime.
