  • Stop Drinking and Create the Life You Love! Hey Sister! Do you find yourself saying, “I need to get control of my drinking?” Do you google “How to know if I’m drinking too much” or “Am I an alcoholic?” Feeling stressed most of the time? Is your health going downhill and it makes you feel like crap? Is your anxiety through the roof, so much that you wake up at 3am with your heart racing and thinking negative thoughts about yourself? You hide it well. Not many people know. You show up for work, you workout (sometimes), you walk around with a smile on your face for the world to see and meanwhile you think... I wish I was a better mom… I want to be a better person. What’s wrong with me? Why can’t I just quit? Yet you still crave that next drink, feel like a failure, and sometimes you wonder who you’ve become. You are sick of this cycle with alcohol and you wish you could get your drinking under control. Girl, I see you and I get you! I’m Michelle Porterfield, a Stop Over Drinking and Transormational Results Coach. For so many years I experienced all of this. I was so afraid of what my life would look like alcohol-free. How would I have fun? What would I tell everyone? How would I travel without a drink in my hand? How would I handle stress? I got to a point where I was sick of being stuck. I had tried to stop drinking and I had failed too many times. I made the choice to choose something different – me. It wasn’t easy, it took surrender, daily awareness, new routines, getting honest with myself, and learning to actually feel my emotions instead of stuffing them down… oh…and lots of grace. Friend, it was so worth it. My life was truly transformed on the other side of drinking. And yours can be too. Here‘s the deal: Drinking less is just the first step! I believe that‘s why it can be scary. We know deep down there’s more. Once we see what’s underneath the alcohol, true freedom is found. I am here to help you do just that. So if you’re ready to get out of the daily cycle that leads you to drink, learn why you do the things you do and how to change them, calm your anxiety, cultivate healthy relationships, love and value yourself again, reignite your faith, and create a life of fulfillment. • 305 \\ Breaking Free from Black and White Thinking: Cultivating Curiosity and Flexibility in Life.
    Nov 14 2024

    Hey my beautiful friends!

In this episode, I'm diving deep into the topic of black and white thinking - that rigid, all-or-nothing mindset that so many of us struggle with. I know it was a huge challenge for me for a long time, and I'm so passionate about helping you break free from it too.

I'll share my own personal journey of expanding my beliefs and creating new, more empowered ways of thinking. I was raised with a lot of rules and legalism, and it took me years to start seeing the gray areas, the both/ands, and all the possibilities in between the extremes.

    We'll also cover:

    - The latest update on my Facebook account drama (ugh, still can't get back in!) and how I'm staying connected with my community - An inspiring story from one of my coaching clients who's choosing not to drink during a really tough time - Practical strategies to challenge those pesky absolutes like "always" and "never" - The power of brainstorming without limits and getting diverse perspectives - Why taking breaks and reflecting on pros and cons can provide fresh clarity

Wherever you're feeling stuck in black and white thinking - whether it's in your relationships, your career, or any other area of life - I'm here to help you cultivate more curiosity, openness, and possibility.

So if you're ready to say goodbye to "this or that" for good, reach out to me at michelle@setfreesisterhood.com. I'd love to chat about how coaching can support you on your journey of personal growth and transformation.

Sending you so much love, Michelle

  • 304 \\ Gratitude: Why Giving Thanks Helps You Stay Alcohol-Free, Decrease Anxiety, and Get Closer to God.
    Nov 7 2024

I'm so excited to share the latest episode of my podcast, where we dive deep into the transformative power of gratitude!

In this episode, I share the science behind how gratitude changes our brain chemistry, boosts our mental and physical health, and strengthens our relationships. But more importantly, I explore the biblical foundation of gratitude and how it can draw us closer to God. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed by the busyness of the holiday season or simply want to cultivate more joy in your everyday life, this episode is for you. I'm inviting you to join me in making gratitude a daily practice - one that has the power to shift our mindsets and bless those around us. So grab a cup of coffee, find a cozy spot, and let's dive in together.

I can't wait to hear how this episode inspires you to live with more thankfulness.

  • 303 \\ Trick or Treat: Reframing the Alcohol Reward Mindset.
    Oct 31 2024

Trick or Treat? 🍬 This Halloween, let's talk about the common belief that a glass of wine is our "reward" or "treat" at the end of a long day. I used to fall into this trap myself, thinking I deserved that drink to unwind. But the truth is, alcohol is a trick, not a treat. It may provide a temporary escape, but it doesn't actually help us relax or cope with stress in a healthy way. In my latest podcast episode, I'm debunking this mindset and sharing how we can reframe our relationship with alcohol. It's time to explore new routines and rituals that bring us genuine, lasting fulfillment - without the guilt and negative consequences. If you're ready to break free from the alcohol reward cycle, I'd love to support you.

My Fall Support Sisterhood group is in full swing, and I'll be launching a new group in the new year.

If you’re not religious this is not for you

I really wanted to relate to this podcast but it fees more like a sermon than a podcast about drinking. If you’re Christian however, you may really enjoy how she ties the 2 elements together.
