On Episode 41 of Southern Live Gumbo, we pay homage to all the wonderful mother's in the world on thier day of worship, Mother's Day. We discuss my visit to New Hampshire for graduation and how they are challenging Disney for being the best place for their genre of people as well as sending words of encouragement to Jamie Foxx.

In our Development pot, we discuss what it means to invest in people from an emotional/support standpoint and what it looks and feels like when that investment pay off in the future.Lastly, we discuss self confidence and self worth, particularly how does someone who is having a low point in both, understand what they're suffering from. And by someone i mean myself.

On Episode 40 of Southern Live Gumbo, I provide a quick update to where I've been and my medical situation which includes how the words "Gluten Free" should be changed to "Happiness Free" on all nutrition labels. 

We discuss why China doesn't care what you're doing in your backyard, The Super Bowl, Singing the National Anthem, How Netflix and Chill was replaced withTubi and Chill on Valentine's Day and much more.

Lastly, we discuss the unknown ways veterans are challenged in thier personal lives when they leave the service, and how the leadership you provide to people will live in them long after the uniform is gone.

On this week's Episode 39 of Southern Live Gumbo, I explain my absence (Again) but share some very good news on how things have been going healthwise. We discuss Christmas etiquette, specifically regifting, using packing materials from other holidays and the average time to remove decorations from the facilities.

New Year's resolutions and the indirect ways that we can affect the success of others around us, above and below us, just from the positive energy we give off. And lastly, the negatives of growth. How some veterans leave the service and finally start to grow personally, just to find that the growth can have a negative effect on their lives and their families.

On Episode 38 of Southern Live Gumbo, we get away from our Cancer Chronicles and go back to our normal programming of discussing the topics of the current world and the human psyche. This was recorded late so my language is fitting for the time frame.

We made the decision to not talk about Kanye West, and then proceed to talk about him from a Mental Health perspective. We then transitioned the mental health discussion to speak on the plight of Candy Corn lovers and their need for intervention from the mental health community. 

And lastly, our main topic of communication and vulnerability in Men. So many people say men don't communicate well, but what happens when they actually do? How much is too much? What happens when they give the world what they're asking for?

On episode 37 of Southern Live Gumbo, we discuss what's happened in the time that's passed since the last episode on 15 July. The lead up to surgery, the completion and healing process of the surgery and the weight of dealing with the changes you're enduring then and for the rest of your life. The need for therapy is even more important now than it was before the diagnosis. 

We also talk about the disease that in many ways can be worse than the cancer itself, Anxiety, and how it can really make your recovery worse than you ever imagined.

On Episode 36 of Southern Live Gumbo, I discuss new updates to my diagnosis and I talk about the emotional aspect of what publicly disclosing it has meant to my relationships with people in my life. How you can be so focused on the effects on you, that you never think about the effects on the people around you and the eye opening experience it can be.

Lastly, we talk about the questions you must ask yourself if you want to make peace with how you feel. Are you ready to take steps forward that you need to rebuild?

On Episode 35 of Southern Live Gumbo, there is only one subject I'm speaking about, how i found out that I have prostate cancer. This won't dominate the show but I wanted to explain why things have fallen off and exactly what the experience has been like for me to this point.

I started thinking about my life as time I didn't want to waste but this space is always where I wanted to be. It is my space to share my stories and testimony for the world to hear, laugh at, cry with or whatever. And even as real as this is emotionally and physically in the future, it something people need to hear. So I plan on coming back here to say it. I love ya'll for taking the time to listen.

I normally only ask for three things but tonight it will be four.

On this week’s episode, Number 34 of Southern Live Gumbo, we heartily wish all mother’s in the world a belated Happy Mother’s Day and ensure they receive their flowers that are well deserved. 

We discuss creative’s finding a way to scratch their creative itch, the need to take the time to live if you’re going to talk about life, American veterans fighting in the Ukraine and the Alabama prison love story of Vicki and Casey White, that came to a fiery end today. 

Lastly, we discuss the power of connection, why it is so wonderful when you have it and why it can lead you down some dark pathways when you’re trying to get it back.
