  • It goes without saying that the Covid-19 pandemic has transformed conferences and live events. This challenge became a catalyst for advances in interpreting technologies and practices. In this first panel of the Spring Series, Alex Chernenko leads a discussion with panelists Alex Gusev, Natalia Fedorenkova, and Arsen Lazursky to examine the vast area of Remote Simultaneous Interpreting (RSI) technology, the ways in which this field has had to adapt, and how we can expect things to move forward as we venture into the “new normal”. Panelists Alex Chernenko (Host) is the CEO and founder of Translit and a SPIRASI certified interpreter. Since the Ukraine native arrived in Ireland in 2003 he has been deeply involved in localization and IT and is an expert in both fields. Alex Gusev became CEO of SpeakUS in 2017, one of the first wave of RSI providers based in Moscow, Russia. After SpeakUS was acquired by Russian-based LSP, Awatera, Alex was responsible for business process integration and team development. Natalia Fedorenkova is a conference interpreter and remote simultaneous interpreter (RSI). She is an Alumnus of Moscow State Lomonosov University, Faculty of Philology, Department of the Theory and Practice of Translation. Arsen Lazursky is a translator in the 4th generation. A summa cum laude graduate of the Moscow State Linguistics University, Arsen has over 20 years of experience in the industry. For the past 15 years, Arsen has worked for BCG steering the translation function in the firm’s Moscow office.
