  • Embracing the Power of Allowing: A Path to Mindful Freedom
    Jan 13 2025

In this episode, Robert Beatty guides us to explore the profound concept of 'allowing' as he begins with reading Dana Foulds poem 'Allow.' The following meditation guides us to embrace all of life's moments—painful, pleasant, weak, or fearful—and accept them for what they are. Through the practice of choiceless awareness, we learn the power of simply being present and the freedom it brings.

Join Robert in his meditation room and open to an intention to allow. He discuss the traditional strategies for awakening, such as focusing on the breath, and delve into the mystery of mindful awareness. This exploration reveals that freedom isn't an unattainable goal but a continuous experience at every stage of our practice.

Embark on a journey within, imagining a golden shape at the center of your heart, symbolizing awakening and wholeness. We reflect on moments of love and use them as conduits to channel compassion and healing into every part of our being. As we nourish our deepest parts with love, we emerge as vessels for universal love and understanding.

This episode encourages us to recognize the present moment as it is and let go of resistance, allowing both pain and pleasure to coexist. As we navigate life's vicissitudes, we are reminded to breathe in happiness and breathe out awakening, carrying the truth of our golden self throughout our day.

  • Awakening through Seeing, Hearing, Sitting and Touching:
    Jan 9 2025

This Guided Meditation by Robert Beatty introduces the listener to the teachings of the Venerable Taungpulu Sayadaw.

Robert spent a week with Ven Taungpulu Sayadaw over 44 years ago. Getting a one week visa to Burma was almost impossible at that time.

Robert ordained as a novice monk and spent five days in intensive practice. The practice was very different from that of usual Mindfulness teachings at the time. Robert was instructed to spend every waking moment attending to one of the following:

    Seeing

    Hearing

    Sitting and Touching.

The fifth day practice consisted of a slow rotation between these sense doors.

This is an illuminating practice making presence and lostness in the trances of the wandering mind very obvious.
