The Truth About Osteoporosis

By: Patrick Brown
  • Summary

  • In THE TRUTH ABOUT OSTEOPOROSIS we will cover the many and sometimes confusing steps our family has taken on our journey through Osteoporosis so others can learn quickly how to tackle the disease. We will also cover the four of the major topics around treatment which include weight-bearing exercises to improve Osteoporosis, taking bone health supplements to improve Osteoporosis, proper nutrition and diet to improve Osteoporosis and taking prescription drugs to improve Osteoporosis. We'll cover these topics as well as many of the products on the market that claim to help improve Osteoporosis, Osteopenia, low bone mineral density and low bone strength. We'll present all the research surrounding both the topics and products in easy to understand language (using a few medical and scientific terms as possible) so that you can make your own decisions about what is best for your health. Good Overview of Podcast Series

I am only rating Episode #1, because that is the only one I have listened to so far and the only one on Audible at this time, but my plan is to find the rest of this series to listen to more. The presenter is talking about his family's experiences with osteoporosis, and as far as I can tell now, they are not selling products. If I find otherwise, I will update this review.

So far I have learned that there is such a thing as an osteoporosis specialist, which I probably should have guessed but did not know since with my recent diagnosis, the only option presented to me was to continue exercising, continue taking Calcium + D, and start on Fosomax (which I have put off until after my next bone scan in two years).

Patrick Brown is easy to listen to, and I look forward to hearing what else he and his family have learned in their journey.

UPDATE: I checked the website and YouTube, and this is the only podcast done as of 2/13/2023. It appears to be a work in progress. There is mention of a premium membership plan on the website but no details yet. Exercise appears to be the focus as well as healthy eating (with many free recipes and exercises available). I am hopeful but somewhat skeptical and am changing my rating since there is no podcast series yet and the original podcast was on YouTube a year ago.
