• The Doula, The Advocate for Justice, The Abolitionist - A Conversation with Kylia Joyce of You Are Seen Doula Services
    Jun 16 2025

In this heart-centered conversation, Kylia Joyce joins Theo at the coffee table to share what it means to be a doula and an abolitionist, leading with tenderness through her company, You Are Seen Doula Services.

With courage and clarity, she speaks on what it takes to advocate for justice — even when it makes others uncomfortable — and the lived experience of growing into womanhood as a Black person in today’s world.

From identity and resilience to rest and resistance, Kylia opens up about her journey of healing through service, redefining success, and choosing softness as a form of protest.

☕ Come sit at the coffee table — you’ll leave feeling seen, stirred, and kindly reminded: to be on the right side of history, you must choose it for yourself.

    Jun 16 2025

What happens when we stop blindly following charisma and start asking harder questions about power, influence, and emotional manipulation? This solo episode explores how cultural figures like Donald Trump expose deeper truths about our spiritual discernment, our relationship with leadership, and the danger of prioritizing performance over integrity. • God, Positive Thinking, and What It Really Means to Be Discerning
    Jun 9 2025

In this solo episode of Theo’s Coffee Break, I explore the tension between faith, toxic positivity, and real spiritual discernment.

What does it mean to be a person of hope without bypassing the hard stuff? How do we stay grounded in God’s goodness without gaslighting ourselves through suffering?

This isn’t just about “thinking good thoughts.” It’s about returning to YOU—your wisdom, your clarity, your intuition—and learning to trust that joy isn’t earned, it’s allowed.

If you’ve ever been told to “just have more faith” when you were breaking inside, this episode is for you.

  • Welcome to the Coffee Table (Theme Song)
    May 26 2025

Before any stories are told, before any coffee is poured — lets get centered and grounded in sound.

This is the official theme song of Theo’s Coffee Break, composed with deep presence and love by me, Shin Hoo Yong aka Theodore B., and my partner, Chris Cutting. We crafted this piece using organic, everyday elements from our very real creative life — the wind chime from our patio, the rhythmic snoring of our dog Django, and the warm hiss of our espresso maker brewing a fresh cup of coffee as morning birds welcome us with a new day in our backyard.

Every sound was chosen and calculated with intention — even the wind chimes were recorded and reshaped to echo the calm between conversations over our coffee table. Blended with ambient piano and gentle synth textures, this song was designed to center you to bring you to the present with the intention to create space for reflection, connection, and calm curiosity.

This isn’t just theme music — it’s the heartbeat of Theo's coffee table.

Grab your mug. Breathe in. Hit play.
