    Dec 4 2021
With Jolyn still grappling with Folmar's arrival, the party is forced to make a difficult decision. • Saving the Damned... Doesn't Work
    Dec 22 2021
The party enter a Halloran much different than they remember; metallic, gothic and coated in a purple liquid that shies away at their touch. After dispatching a Bone Swarm and encountering Furl, they attempt to talk him into coming home. Sorrowfully, he declines, and conflict ensues. When the dust settles, Enton has had a brush with death. Furl warns of one of the party wreathed in white flame, breaking oaths, before crumbling to dust just as Griffy had.

  • Questions Over Tea
    Feb 21 2022
Felim finally meets the soul behind the Mindheart, Breon. A dragon seemingly trapped in humanoid form, he tells the party what he can remember of Jukkud's motivations, before explaining the magical properties of Dragons. He explains that their bodies are constructed entirely of magic, and that in his experience, injuring or "killing" a dragon splits their essence, prompting a period of hibernation before fractured versions begin to regrow consciousness. He's uncertain of the mechanics of this, but explains that his soul anchored itself to the Mindheart, and with it broken, he may be fading. **Includes some less-than-canon DM answers that were retconned in following session**

  • Answers, More Questions, and a Dancer
    Apr 2 2022
We return briefly to partway through the party's conversation with Breon, to clarify some questions. These include whether or not he is the leader of the Splinters, "Ben" whom Shalei referred to (no); why the Book of Jukkud is dangerous to people with with psionically sensitive minds (because Jukkud's major means of lashing out are psychic); and can the power in the Radiant City help restore Breon to his body (no). They then convince Folmar to accompany them to Qrulen'Vais. Before they can leave however, the gang spots a scouting force of Avarian soldiers corralling a Splinter and two Elven sorcerers. After rescuing them and escaping, the Splinter, Deremis Dance, leads them to a hideout in the Holdurgor mountains, where they find Breonin Tyr, the Manyscaled, another manifestion of Breon, leader of the Splinters.

  • Bad Dreams, and Lovers Reunited
    Apr 23 2022
Breonin Tyr harangues the party for not making the Doorway their top priority, arguing that Avarglain/Jukkud's goal to conquer Drakkeln is perhaps a necessary step to protect the continent from "the threat from across the Doorway". He is unclear what this is, but claims to be able to sense a wrongness that is not of this world. He then requests time alone with the Book of Jukkud, which the party eventually agrees to, with some reluctance. Eavesdropping, Wynston hears scattered words of romance between Jukkud and Breonin, and the Manyscaled One returns the Book afterwards. He suggests that Jukkud is not evil, merely crazed from decades of imprisonment and pain. The party says they will investigate the Doorway after returning to Qrulen'Vais to report, and Breonin Tyr leaves to investigate something. Victor experiences some troubling dreams, and Folmar and Jolyn have a tiff about some miscommunication, before the party leaves via teleportation circle to Qrulen'Vais.

  • Conflict in the Commemoratia
    Jun 26 2022
The party arrives in Qrulen'Vais with news of Furl's death - to Skies' horror - and the incoming army - to everyone's horror. Shalei calls the Commemoratia, and asks the party to convince them to unite the Empire's armies. As the party is about to entreat the council, they see Va'ush has seized control of Drodna, and earned himself a seat. Suspicious, the gang barely starts before Va'ush speaks up. Shalei's guards suddenly move to attack him, before quickly changing targets and attempting to kill the Commemoratia members and the party. Victor rips Va'ush's tongue out and beats him to a pulp, decrying the heretics and shouting pleas to the crowd of military unity. Proditsia, Skies and Shalei are rattled but recovering, and Shalei leads the party through an underwater river to the Radiant City, with walls flecked with crystal and buildings of seashells. A pillar of light rises in the centre of the city's temple, surrounding by some Merfolk.

  • City of Radiance
    Jul 3 2022
The Radiant City is home to merfolk, who congregate once every 4 days to engage in Lighting; the collective sampling of divine power that bestows fleeting ecstasy, but takes over your body if you touch it for too long. The city is ruled by Ara the Silver Whisper, who claims that his family are genetically predisposed to gaining additional powers from the Lighting. Victor has a seizure while Felim follows a group carrying the Lightformed corpse of a merfolk to the outskirts of town. They bury it into a section of the wall lacking crystals, and then it begins to form gemstones. Some snake-like skeletal creatures crawl down the wall and paralyze Felim, before leaving. Meanwhile, Jolyn and Folmar steal some scrolls from Ara's rooms, which detail that the "genetic" advantage his family has is actually imbued by a magical ritual. Victor exposes Jolyn (Folmar remains undetected) who is forced to return one scroll. The party attempt to place the Conflict Insignia in the vestibule the Light falls into, but are rebuffed by an unseen voice. Ara requests they wait in the city until the next Lighting, and Jolyn, Wynston and Victor remain — with the Insignia — while Shalei, Alyssa, Felim and Enton return to Qrulen'Vais.
