Bear Walker

Some folks said he was unusual, some called him uncanny. He was a mountain man, big, gentle and strong. They called him “Bear”. His keen senses bode him well in the mountains and forests of the Pacific Northwest. Danger was not foreign to him; he lived with it everyday. Perhaps this is why an entire mining camp could count on him to go after supplies in the dead of winter. It would mean traveling from the valley over the rugged Cascade Mountains and back again. The first person who tried it was killed by robbers. Now, Bear Walker was the only hope the miners had left.

The heydays of the gold rush brought many a would be millionaire to the mountains and streams of North Central Washington. The most feared and respected was prospector and mountain man, Bear Walker. But in this episode, Bear is the one subjected to fear. A fear he has never known when his prospector friends start dying from a mysterious cause. Panic sets in among the miners and many believe it’s the plague. But the more Bear investigates, the more curious the situation becomes. He has never before seen anyone die like these miners are dying....

A mysterious letter sends Bear Walker on a journey 30 years into his past, back to the town of Bannack, Montana, where old ghosts still linger and a man’s deeds live after him. Unfortunately, Bear is accompanied by Mad Muldoon, Eureka Gulch’s most noticeable lunatic and one-time cannibal, who begged to come along so he could visit his Montana kinfolk one last time...and then remembers, too late, why he escaped from them in the first place.
