About this listen

Vampire Amaury LeSang is cursed to feel everybody's emotions like a permanent migraine. The only way to alleviate the pain is through sex. When he meets the feisty human woman Nina, a cure for his ailment seems within reach: in her presence all pain vanishes.

Unfortunately, Nina is out to kill him because she believes he's involved in her brother's death. And she would succeed if only Amaury's bad boy charm didn't play havoc with her hormones and catapulted her into his arms and his bed every time she was near him.

As every kiss brings them physically closer, danger is lurking and threatens to destroy the little trust they have in each other.

Vampires or frogs?

Never had I had to fight myself as hard to finish a book as I did this one. Too many times Nina & her snap judgements hopped & bounced across the pages like an out-of-control frog.. Amaury was almost as bad. It was like listening to a porno followed by bouncing emotions & leaping to conclusions. Listen to only if you have patience for snap judgements.

Second Book in a great series!!

All through book 1, I wondered what Amaury's story was and now I know. This is going to be a series you will have to listen to in order or you will lose some of the reminders that are in this book. Ms. Folsom has continued to build on the characters that were in the first book and she keeps you wanting to see what happens next. Nina and Amaury chase one another for different reasons and the ending was such a surprise. I love the way Ms. Folsom keeps showing vampires as normal people too. You begin to look at these vampires as a family group in a way.

Love this Frenchman!

Amaury is a phenomenal character. His specific ability, the curse he has been dealing with for over 400 years, is the best for this story. I love how he and Gabriel can use their gifts in tandem with one another. I also like how all of the Scanguard's men work so well together. Nina is the second human woman to be brought into the Scanguard's family. I really like how her and Amaury came together. This is a sort of enemies to lovers type story. Nina blames Vampire-kind for her brother's death. Working to avenge him, at least in her eyes, she stalks Amaury one night and attempts to attack and kill him. Unsuccessful in her attempt, Amaury uses his charms to win her over to his side. The fight/rescue at the end is full of suspense and excitement. I really enjoyed it. This is my first time listening to the book and I enjoyed it just as much as the times when I read the ebook. I look forward to listening to the next story. Well done to both the author and the narrator.

ANOTHER GREAT PNR SERIES TO GET YOUR TEETH INTO

So, book 1. thankfully, has been followed up by an equally entertaining listen as the Scanguards sexy Team of Vampire Bodyguards and Security experts are all called up to battle evil again.

Amaury and Nina's story was touching, tender, sexy, romantic and hot also, the plot that they were involved in was exciting, had great characters, secrets to be unearthed, a prophecy, drama, plot twists, and, of course, a new enemy to vanquish. The H/H have great chemistry and there's some fun lines too as the handsome, beefy, sexy, Alpha Vampire Amaury (every Vampire book should have one) has a lot of mental 'baggage' from being cursed going on in his head and his remedy is Nina but she doesn't want to play as she's on a revenge mission - to kill all vampires.

Great plot (if only his 'sex and more sex' cure for a headache worked!) and, as it unfolds, there's lots of Ohhhs, Ahhh's and Mmmmm's to keep you entertained from the first chapter until the last. There's instant attraction (of course), they're on opposite sides (naturally) but Amaury's steadfast longing, love and belief in Nina eases his guilt and forgiveness may just win the day (thankfully).

Worth a credit? This is a series that has a LOT of forthcoming potential and I can see it going on and on as there's plenty of Scanguards to go round - so whilst they do, and whilst they're written to this calibre, then I'm going to happily spend my credits as I'm easily pleased - so that's a YES from this vamp tramp.

Hellion on Wheels, so worth it.

I enjoyed reading this book. I first picked it up because I really liked the first Scanguard Vampires series, Samson's Lovely Mortal. So when I notice this book was finally on audible and I jumped at the chance to read it. Amuary is a vampire that has a gift or you could say curse. He is forced to feel everyones emotions except love. He is unable to feel love for anybody. The only thing that can briefly alleviate this misery is sex. So he constantly has sex to help with the pain from his gift/curse. Nina is a street smart human, determine to find out what really happened to her brother that made him commit suicide. She begins looking into his death and she finds her way to Scanguard, the security agency Amuary works for. Upon their first meeting, the attraction between them is electrifying. Neither one can resist what is happening even though they both know it's a bad bad idea. So begins the story...

There are several things I enjoyed about this book. First Tina, writes some hot sex scenes. Truly they can melt your headphones. Second, the narrator, Kevin, does a superb job with the male voices. His voice is a deep rich luscious sound. Third, the book captivates you from the first line until the end. Usually books of this nature take awhile before you can actually get interested but Tina write characters that are intriguing and relatable.

The only thing that I didn't like about this book. With many male narrators, Kevin does a bad job of imitating a woman's voice. They are shrill and have the tendency to sound like a outraged teenager. Not the strong lead female characters they are suppose to be. If you can get pass this, the book is really worth a read. Worth a credit, yes, yes it is.

The book is fantastic however the narrator wasn’t

I love this series. The book itself is great. However the narrator didn’t fit the book. He did a good job speaking but his accent was off and his female voice was bad. I was expecting an English/French accent; instead there was a heavy southern accent. The main character Amaury is French living in California. And I wish a woman played the female narration. The narrator was well spoken and annunciated however this wasn’t the right fit.

Very enjoyable and entertaining.

Well written with smooth narration between believable characters. Love scenes were hot and steamy and I believe most readers would find this to be a "and they lived happily ever after" story.

Scoundrel meets Hellion.

I am enjoying this series. I have read this book and Gabriel's Mate after I listened to the first book and enjoyed them. This is a simple paranormal romance story. There is some action and mystery but that isn't the main focus. I'm glad to see that the remaining series is starting to come out on audio. I like the narrator but his voices for women is a little on the whiny side. I will be getting the whole series as they come out, which hopefully will be soon.

Taming of The Shrew

Would you listen to Amaury's Hellion again? Why?

Yes, I love the series.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I liked the main character/vampire Amaury.

What does Kevin Foley bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Mr Foley has a pleasant voice to listen to when bringing in both male and female point of view. Also, he changes his voice well that I can tell the different between males and or females etc. Not every narrator can do this.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I ended up listening to most of it in one sitting. I thought the story had a slow start so it did take me a few days to get past the first 50 plus pages.

Any additional comments?

This book introduces the New York Vampires into this story and all the drama between Zane, Quinn, and Yvette with the San Francisco's main characters. As Amaury learned the hard way, don't have sex with some one at work, as women have long memories and grudges. I don't know when Yvette will or if she will forgive & forget whatever happened. Though this has little to do with the main story we all love a little soap opera. It should be interesting to read the series as a lot This book was little slow in the beginning.

An unknown vampire is using mine control to use Security Guards to kill their clients and then themselves. A woman, (main character and new love interest for Amaury) Nina, is the foster sister of this security guard and is out for vampire blood to find out who killed her brother.
