About this listen

Warning: A sense of humor is required for this tongue in cheek, paranormal romance. It contains coarse language and explicit sexual situation meant for open minded adults. Please note, that while no bunnies were permanently harmed in the making of this story, the prognosis isn't so good for the pie.

What's a poor bear to do when all he wants is some sweet, bunny pie?

Bears and bunnies aren't supposed to mix, or that's what Chase keeps telling himself when his bouncy new neighbor won't stay out of his business - and his mind. However, the more he gets to know his overly perky neighbor, the more he craves her. It's a desire worse than his addiction to honey and pie.

Miranda's on a mission for the Furry United Coalition, and it involves secretly guarding one grumpy ol' bear. Staying focused on the job isn't easy when all she can think about is turning his frown upside down, a task made harder when she gets a glimpse of his passion. When she hears about his theory on woodland creatures and predators not mixing, she thinks all is lost. But she didn't count on a bear's curious nature - and possessive need.

When an evil force abducts Chase, Miranda unleashes her bunny in order to save him. But the revelation of her shifter side puts her in danger. Is one ornery bear enough to save her from a mad scientist? And if he does, can a bear forget her woodland creature status long enough to love her and make her his mate?

A beautiful shifter

I actually thought that this book was entertaining and cute. Shifters and secret agents make this one unusual story.

flirty, sexy, fun

I had a great time listening to this book. sure there is plenty of things that make it adult rated, but the hilarious antics of a bunny picking on a grumpy bear just cracked me up. Add the fact that this isn't your typical bunny and you've got a good time. I recommend this for anyone who doesn't mind some naughty language and major flirting.

Bunny and Bear Love

I loved that Miranda pretended to be ditzy so that no one would know what and who she really was and understimated her. I also liked the stubborn nature of Chase, to the point that he did what he really didn't want to do, and that was fall for Miranda.

I'm also very curious about Victor, Jessie and Mason's stories.

I'm a huge fan of Shelly Laurenston aka G.A. Aiken. So I love shifter books that have both comedy and mystery in them. This one was okay, but was missing something. It felt like it was rushing to get done or something.

I will read more, I just need something else first. Hope the series gets better.

Hilarious Start to a Series

This book has been on my radar for a long time. It is no secret that I’m a huge fan of Eve Langlais. I’m also a huge fan of hilarious paranormal romance with shifters of exotic shifters. What I mean by exotic shifters, is the non-standard. The wolf and cat shifters are a dime a dozen these days. Bears are growing a lot too. But I love authors who choose different animals for their shifters and then use those animal traits to their advantage. Eve Langlais does a great job with that in this book with Miranda, our heroine and bunny. There are several other shifter breeds in this book as side characters including a giraffe, swan and crocodile (some of which are in future books, woohoo!!).

Miranda is a bunny and she is also a bubbly blonde who plays the “dumb blonde” card to a tee. Don’t let her fool you though, she isn’t stupid by any shape of the imagination. She is a FUC agent (yes, that is how it is pronounced). There is even mention that the agency was originally, Furry United Coalition and Defense, but people thought FUCD was too vulgar. Miranda may look like a girly-girl, but she knows what she is doing. She is a good agent, she is just using her looks to make people underestimate her.

Chase is a gruff grizzly bear. He is also a probate lawyer. He likes his sleep, sixteen hours on the weekend. He doesn’t like to share his food. He likes things nice and stable. He was able about order and not having things disrupt his life. That is until a bouncing bunny moves in next door.

Chase is on a list of males that are potential kidnap victims. So FUC sends Miranda to move in next to him to help prevent the kidnapping. There is a group kidnapping predator males in their prime for experiments. FUC wants to use the list as bait, but doesn’t want to tell the marks.

This story is very silly, but fun. If you are looking for a more serious PNR with tons of suspense and action, this is probably not the book for you. Yes, there is action and suspense, but the suspense is pretty easy to figure out. This is a story if you are looking for a quick and funny read, which I love to balance out some of the many dark stories that I read.

Narration
This is the first audiobook that I’ve listened to that was narrated by Abby Craden. She really nailed Miranda’s voice in my head. She got that bubbly, always happy voice down pat. Chase’s voice was good too, you could really feel the gruffness in it. He always sounded so grumpy. All the voices were distinct and the tones were well done. I’m excited to listen to her finish off this series.

Fun and Sexy Book!

Loved it! Great female narrator, though all the male characters sounded super growly. Characters were fun!
