About this listen

Book Two in the instant USA TODAY best-selling trilogy!

From the viral TikTok author of the stalker romcom, LIGHTS OUT, comes Navessa Allen’s second book in best-selling The Into Darkness Trilogy, upping the ante with voyeurism and play club kink.

“I wanted this woman, and I was a man who always got what he wanted.”

Nico "Junior" Trocci knows Lauren Marchetti is off limits. She is sweetness and laughter, whereas Junior exists in a world of violence and depravity. Men like him don’t get to have women like her. It’s why he pushed her away back in high school and kept his distance ever since.

But when Junior looks Lauren up online, he discovers the shy, bookish girl he remembers is gone. In her place is a strikingly beautiful woman whose social media is filled with scantily clad pictures of herself and a connection to a nearby play club. Junior’s innocent curiosity quickly turns into a dark obsession. Watching Lauren from a distance isn’t enough; he needs to make her his.

“He’s ruthless; a walking red flag. Good thing red is my favorite color.”

Lauren is intrigued by the mystery man who keeps showing up at her club, who tempts her white-hot desires. But as their flirty online messages stir up a deeper form of connection, Lauren worries she’s developing real feelings for this brooding stranger. As their combined desire ratchets up to a breaking point, who will seduce who?

the narrators were absolutely phenomenal, I don't know if I would have been able to make it through without them.
the actual book.... eh. I pre ordered this when I hadn't even finished Lights Out because I loved that book so much, and this one just.... didn't hit the same. where was the humor? the banter? was all just Jacob Morgan injecting it into the last book? I dont know but I love the narrators and they did a fantastic job as always

alright

The banter between the two main characters was amazing. I think I enjoyed this one more than Lights Out!

Well Done!!!

I love that we see Josh and Aly pop back up in this book. Overall a Solid 4 stars for me. While this kept my attention and the story was good. There were parts that were too dragged out. Lauren's inner monolog about not trust Junior gets old and annoying by the time they get to the chapter that Junior for confesses everything to her. We upstanding by the that she doesnt trust him and that its a constant back and forth. While it doesnt drag on it feels unnecessary.

Besides that. I love these two. I hope to see more of them whenever the third books comes out.

I love this book.

DEVOURED THIS.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Caught up is definitely more different than Lights Out. It was more darker (obv he’s in the mafia) Nick was still a smart ass, but not in the same way that Josh was and that’s okay. You can’t expect every character to be the same.
*I also liked the realistic-ness of her getting mad about him stalking her.

“If this queen was seriously considering letting me back into her life, then groveling was probably the lightest punishment I deserved”

🎧 listened on audio of course and it was amazing!

SPICY 🥵
I want to say where they have sex, but you’ll just have to read it to find out. (It’s hot)

This was positively FILTHY…yet wildy entertaining and almost…wholesome? Navessa really ramped up the spice while also having a plot that was cohesive and page turning with added emotional grit from what Lights Out’s gave us. I appreciated the touch on religious trauma and sex positivity…and the way kinks were explored and freely discussed. Loved the friendships, complicated family dynamics, strong female characters and of course the cameo’s from Aly and Josh! I did find myself wanting more biker scenes—but the spice we DID get? Holy hell!🥵 Sounds like we’ll get more from this world and I’ll be ready for it!

Great Narration, entertaining plot!

⭐ Final Rating: 4.5/5
🌶️ Spiciness: 6/10
🤓 Plot Depth: 7/10
🫣 Shock Factor: 2/10

It carried the bones of a great follow-up, but it never quite filled the shadow left by Book 1. The plot? Solid. The characters? Real and emotionally grounded. The relationship dynamics? Surprisingly healthy, with admirable boundary-setting (yes, finally, no toxic obsession masquerading as love).

But baby... the spice was underseasoned. 🌶️ It wasn't bland, but compared to the smut storms I've been spoiled with lately, this one barely simmered. And the twists? Predictable. I wanted messy, I wanted chaotic, I wanted to be on the edge of my damn seat—and instead, I was just comfortably reclined.

The saving grace? The narrators. Kasi Hollowell, Jason June, and Teddy Hamilton? Y’all did that. The performance made the story shine brighter than it would’ve on paper.

Would I recommend it? Yes, but only after you’ve devoured Book 1.

Let’s be real this book had potential.

At first, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Teddy Hamilton because all I can see is haunting Adeline, but as the story continued, I absolutely fell in love with the characters. I wish there was a little more, but I can’t wait to see what Navessa has next.

I need more

I am EXCITED for the next with Tyler. Is he in an interracial relationship with a black woman with locs?

Nico finally come to terms with his feeling and man up instead doing things on the low.
